The proponents operated under the presumption that this would create stability, free the Iranian people, make the world safer, and be an easy operation. They were wrong across the board. The only meaningful path to redemption now is full, unqualified acknowledgment, not just that they were wrong, but that they advocated reckless and predictably catastrophic views.
Anyone who still takes Trump seriously at this point is effectively a political cultist. Eventually, the fog will lift, and some people will sheepishly admit they were "wrong" about this war, but that amounts to little accountability when they were quite literally cheerleading it while schoolchildren were being incinerated.
