We only have to listen to the words of the Star-Spangled Banner to remember what our flag stands for. This flag day, we remember the sacrifice of the countless men and women who have laid down their lives to defend the freedoms we hold dear.

251 years of service, sacrifice, and strength. The U.S. Army has stood between this nation and every threat it has ever faced. Today we celebrate that legacy and honor every soldier who has carried it forward.

June is National Dairy Month. My father was a Dairy Farmer. I am very grateful for our Dairy Farmers and very mindful of the hard work often in extreme weather to bring milk, cheese, butter and many other great foods to our tables. I am very thankful for farmers like Mike Sayler.

I was proud to support our public education system last session by providing $339 million in funding to strengthen public schools statewide. Tennessee’s future belongs to our youth, and we must provide them with a strong education.

Yesterday, my husband and our dog went up to Roan Mountain because the rhododendrons were in full bloom. We saw some beautiful flowers and were blessed to see a doe and her new baby. God has made some amazing things for us to enjoy. Happy Great Outdoors Month!

What a wonderful luncheon yesterday with the East Tennessee Republican Club. There is nothing quite like gathering with people who share a love of God and country.

Cancer does not fight fair. But survivors do. On National Cancer Survivors Day, we recognize everyone who has faced this disease, and everyone still in the fight.

82 years ago today, the tide of World War II turned on the shores of France. The men who waded ashore at Normandy carried the weight of the free world on their shoulders. We honor them today.

Quick reminder: Tennessee holds unclaimed property for residents until it's claimed. That could mean old bank accounts, uncashed checks, or insurance funds. Search your name at UnclaimedProperty.TN.gov.

The CDBG program has delivered 186 miles of water and sewer infrastructure across Tennessee. These aren't abstract numbers; they represent real communities with cleaner water, better service, and a stronger foundation for growth.

Strong infrastructure creates stronger communities. 💪 During @GovBillLee’s administration, TNECD's Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program has funded 186 miles of water and sewer lines across the state, a distance longer than the 181 miles between the Tennessee State Capitol in Nashville and Neyland Stadium in Knoxville. These investments are supporting economic opportunity, improving quality of life and strengthening infrastructure for Tennesseans across the state. 👏 #SoundsLikeTN

Two years ago, 29-year-old Matthew Davenport was killed from a lethal interaction between Kratom and his prescribed medication. This drug has been long overlooked, but it is a real threat to our local communities. I was proud to cosponsor the bill that banned Kratom in Tennessee.

On June 1, 1796, a frontier territory became a state. 230 years later, Tennessee remains one of the freest, most prosperous, and most patriotic states in the nation. Jonesborough will celebrate this milestone at 12:00pm this Friday on the courthouse steps. See you there!

Children raised in a stable, two-parent home have better outcomes across the board. I proudly co-sponsored HJR182, which says that Tennessee will formally recognize June as Nuclear Family Month. Strong homes make strong communities.

I have worked hard to improve cancer treatment for Tennesseans. I voted for HB0484, requiring TennCare and other health plans to cover biomarker testing; and my own HB1956 expands coverage for step-therapy in Tennessee. Patients will catch cancer earlier, and beat it faster.

Record investments in economic development are now law. Tennessee is building prosperity the right way, with a balanced budget that proves we can do more with discipline.

From strategic investments to continued economic momentum, this year’s legislative session reinforced why Tennessee continues to Experience High Volume. 🔊 Thank you to Gov. Bill Lee and the Tennessee General Assembly for championing initiatives that support businesses, strengthen communities and expand opportunity across our state. Take a look at the budget and legislative highlights helping shape Tennessee’s economic future. 🙌

This morning, I had the honor of placing flags on the graves of our fallen soldiers and thanking them for their service and sacrifice. There is no way to repay their sacrifice, but we can honor their memory by the way we live today. Let’s reflect on that truth this weekend.

.@garyhicksjr, @RustyCroweTN and I brought home $3.5 million in state funding for East Tennessee State University, along with various non-profits in our local community, as a part of this year’s state budget. It matters who governs, and I am committed to delivering real results.

If you plan to spend Memorial Day weekend on Boone Lake or another nearby, exercise caution! Tennessee is especially dry for this time of year, which means shallow water and exposed rocks in places you wouldn't expect. Enjoy your weekend, but remember, safety first!
‼️ We have some important information if you’re planning to head to the lake this Memorial Day weekend.‼️ The Southeast remains under severe and, in some areas, extreme drought conditions. Large portions of the region have received significantly less rainfall than normal this spring, resulting in below normal lake levels across the Tennessee Valley. Major tributary lakes including Norris, Douglas, Cherokee, Fontana, South Holston, Watauga, Boone, Blue Ridge, Chatuge, Nottely and Hiwassee are currently several feet below target summer pool levels. Lakes along the main Tennessee River, including Fort Loudoun, Watts Bar and Chickamauga, are also running lower than typical for this time of year. While rainfall is forecast over the next several days, the rain is expected to be spread out over multiple days and may not significantly improve lake levels, especially those that are well below target. Boaters should use extra caution on the water and watch for exposed rocks, debris and areas that may be shallower than normal. Plan ahead, check conditions before you go using our free Lake Info app and enjoy the weekend safely. 📲 tva.me/CHmn50Z2oaE

Foster care is a sacred calling. I helped pass HB1359 last year to protect foster children's rights and dignity. We honor those families serving our most vulnerable during National Foster Care Month.
