Honored to wear orange today in honor of Gun Violence Awareness Month. This year I’m thinking of the families and children of Annunciation Catholic School – including Harper and Fletcher, the two children we lost on that tragic day in August.
Earlier this year, a parent from Annunciation hand delivered a letter her daughter wrote to me. The letter talked about her experience during the shooting and asked me to do something about it. It’s framed on my desk, and I look at it every single day.
We can and should grieve these horrific losses, but our words mean nothing unless we’re willing to take action. It’s time to get weapons of war off our streets.
