This morning, I was honored to join the 41st Annual Cyprus Conference, hosted by PSEKA, as we mark 52 years since the illegal invasion and continued division of Cyprus.
For many families in our community and across America, Cyprus is not a distant issue. It is personal: a story of heritage, faith, family, freedom, and a people who have waited far too long for justice, reunification, security, and lasting peace.
At a moment of growing instability around the world, America must remain clear about what we stand for: defending sovereignty, upholding the rule of law, and standing with democratic allies in strategically vital regions.
I am grateful to PSEKA President Philip Christopher, Ambassador Evangelos Savva of Cyprus, Ambassador Antonis Alexandridis of Greece, and Konstantinos Letymbiotis for their leadership and partnership.
The bond between the United States, Cyprus, and Greece is rooted in more than strategy. It is rooted in shared values: freedom, democracy, faith, family, and the belief that peace must be built on justice. We will continue to stand together in defense of those values and in pursuit of a free, secure, and reunified Cyprus.
