A few weeks ago, the House passed the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act, advancing one of the most significant federal efforts in years to increase housing supply, modernize outdated policy, and bring affordability back within reach. The House-passed bill reflects priorities I have been pushing for years: cutting unnecessary barriers to new housing, accelerating homebuilding, strengthening affordable housing tools, helping veterans access the home loan benefits they earned, and giving communities more flexibility to meet local housing needs. As the bill now moves through the Senate, I met with my partners from the National Association of Home Builders, including PA-1 leaders John Sukonik of Sukonik Building Companies, former President of the HBA of Bucks and MontCo, and Carla Zapotek, EVP of the HBA of Bucks and MontCo, to ensure the challenges and needs of our community remain central to the final bill. Grateful to NAHB, John, Carla, and our local builders for their insight and partnership as we continue working to get this legislation across the finish line and deliver real solutions—more homes, more choices, lower barriers, and a housing market that works better for builders, families, seniors, builders, and communities.

This morning, I was honored to join the 41st Annual Cyprus Conference, hosted by PSEKA, as we mark 52 years since the illegal invasion and continued division of Cyprus. For many families in our community and across America, Cyprus is not a distant issue. It is personal: a story of heritage, faith, family, freedom, and a people who have waited far too long for justice, reunification, security, and lasting peace. At a moment of growing instability around the world, America must remain clear about what we stand for: defending sovereignty, upholding the rule of law, and standing with democratic allies in strategically vital regions. I am grateful to PSEKA President Philip Christopher, Ambassador Evangelos Savva of Cyprus, Ambassador Antonis Alexandridis of Greece, and Konstantinos Letymbiotis for their leadership and partnership. The bond between the United States, Cyprus, and Greece is rooted in more than strategy. It is rooted in shared values: freedom, democracy, faith, family, and the belief that peace must be built on justice. We will continue to stand together in defense of those values and in pursuit of a free, secure, and reunified Cyprus.

Social workers, like Jerard Johnson of Bristol, see the pressure points in our communities before they become headlines or statistics. Over the years, I have been proud to work with @nasw and community advocates like Jerard to address the challenges they confront every day: mental health access, provider shortages, senior care, family stability, and food insecurity. Their frontline perspective has directly shaped initiatives I am proud to lead, including the Mental Health Access and Provider Support Act, the Expanding Seniors Access to Mental Health Services Act, and the Hot Foods Act—legislation to strengthen the workforce, improve Medicare reimbursement, expand care for seniors in nursing facilities, and give families in need more flexibility, access, and dignity. Thank you to Jerard, NASW, and social workers across PA-01 for your expertise, service, and partnership in this mission.

Congratulations to my friend, Prime Minister @narendramodi, on becoming India’s longest-serving elected Prime Minister—a historic milestone for the world’s largest democracy and a testament to his transformative leadership. Under his leadership, India has stepped forward as a democracy of extraordinary scale, an engine of enterprise and innovation, and a vital partner to the United States. The U.S.-India relationship is one of the great partnerships of our time—central to economic security, defense cooperation, innovation, and a free and open Indo-Pacific, yet rooted most deeply in the friendship between our people. Congratulations again to Prime Minister Modi and the people of India!

No one understands the needs of kidney disease patients more clearly than the nurses caring for them every day. Great to reconvene with my partners from @ANNAnurses, including two of our own PA-01 advocates, Shelby Hisler of Doylestown and Kelly Oommen of Bensalem. We are taking their insights and priorities and turning them into action through initiatives I am championing to strengthen Title VIII nursing workforce programs, protect living donors, and expand access to kidney care—including the Living Donor Protection Act, the Living Donor FMLA Protection Act, and the Kidney Care Access Protection Act. Thank you to Shelby, Kelly, and the entire ANNA team for your partnership and expertise—and to all of our hero nurses who deliver skilled, compassionate care to patients and families across the nation every day.

As technology changes the way Americans invest, save, and build, our tax code must provide certainty, not confusion. At our @WaysandMeansGOP legislative hearing on digital asset taxation, I questioned Sarah Reilly of Fidelity Investments about the need for clear definitions, objective standards, and workable rules taxpayers can understand and the IRS can apply. Whether we are talking about traditional, digital, or tokenized assets, taxpayers deserve a system that is fair, understandable, and consistent—one that protects taxpayers while allowing responsible innovation to grow here in America.

💯.  If the House Floor was managed properly, discharge petitions would never be needed. A successful discharge petition is clear and direct evidence of a poorly managed House Floor—because it demonstrates that the will of the majority of the People is being thwarted by the privileged few. Leadership of both parties have been guilty of this for years…just further evidence of the brokenness of the two-party system—and the rise of Independent voters is a direct manifestation of this.
the frustration by House R leadership at discharges is really misguided. the reason people feel like they need to file/sign discharge petitions is because they do not feel like the leadership is representing their interests well enough.

Join me in congratulating Joseph Seif of Troop 79, from Perkasie, on earning the rank of Eagle Scout! For his project, Joseph designed and constructed three garden boxes for Bucks County Community College’s Upper Bucks Campus, where they will be used by students participating in a life skills class. In speaking with Joseph about his project, I could not have been more impressed by the thoughtfulness he put into choosing a project that would foster hands-on learning, practical skills, and responsibility for students right here in our community. These garden boxes will give students the opportunity to learn by doing, spend time outdoors, and take pride in caring for something they helped grow. That kind of service reflects what we work to champion across PA-1: supporting students, strengthening educational spaces, and creating opportunities for every learner to build skills in meaningful ways. Congratulations, Joseph—and thank you to your family, Scout leaders, Troop 79, and the entire PA-1 Scouting community for continuing to lead through service!

Great to celebrate 100 years of the First German Sport Club Phoenix — a Bucks County institution that has brought generations together through fellowship, soccer, service, tradition, and a proud celebration of German heritage. With the World Cup kicking off next week, it was a fitting moment to honor a club that has helped grow the game right here in PA-1 for generations. Congratulations on 100 years, my friends, and thank you for all you do for our community!

Yesterday, I was grateful to join our partners from the Cancer Support Community Greater Philadelphia for Survivorship Bingo in Warminster for a special afternoon with incredible community members whose stories of strength, hope, and resilience will stay with me. Cancer has touched nearly every family in some way. And while treatment is critical, so is what happens around it: the support, education, wellness, connection, and community that help patients, survivors, caregivers, and families keep going. That is the heart of CSCGP’s mission. Through free support groups, educational workshops, wellness programs, and compassionate care, they make sure no one faces cancer alone. As Co-Chair of the Congressional Cancer Caucus, I’m proud to support and work alongside CSCGP and so many partners across our region who are strengthening the cancer care continuum, from prevention and screening to survivorship and family support. Ahead of Community is Stronger Than Cancer Day on June 28, yesterday said it best: cancer touches all of us, but community carries us through.

Join me in congratulating Daniel Naples of Troop 132, from Bensalem, on earning the rank of Eagle Scout! Today, we got had the opportunity to see his outstanding Scout project in person at St. Charles Borromeo in Bensalem, where he Daniel restored the parish community’s Stations of the Cross, creating a special place of reflection for generations of parishioners to come. Earning the rank of Eagle Scout is one of the highest achievements in Scouting, and it reflects years of discipline, leadership, perseverance, and service to others. Daniel’s project is a powerful example of that commitment: using his gifts to serve others, honor his faith community, and leave a lasting impact right here at home. Congratulations, Daniel—and thank you to your family, Scout leaders, Troop 132, and the entire PA-1 Scouting community for continuing to lead through service.

Today, I had the honor of spending time with an extraordinary group of young leaders from our community—the Class of 2030 U.S. Air Force Academy Appointees and Prep School Candidates—as they prepare to head to Colorado Springs next month. As America approaches its 250th anniversary, their decision to step forward and serve carries special meaning—a new generation of brave, Patriots choosing duty, discipline, courage, and love of country. Thank you to the entire Southeast Pennsylvania USAFA Parents’ Club, Co-Presidents Maryann Carroll and Debi Kellermann, and the Yardley VFW for your support of these appointees, candidates, and their families. Please join me in wishing them Godspeed, safety, strength, and success as they begin this extraordinary chapter of service to the our great nation.

Another new PA-1 business opening its doors is always worth celebrating. Great to mark the the grand opening of the new UPS Store in The Plaza at Dublin Town Center with Dipesh Pandya, Dipti Pandya, Rakesh Patel, and Sweety Patel. From shipping and printing to supporting entrepreneurs and employers, this new store will be part of the everyday infrastructure that helps our local economy run. Small business owners know better than anyone what it takes to grow in today’s economy. I look forward to welcoming them into our work with PA-1 small business owners to continue identifying the challenges on the ground and advancing solutions that help our businesses grow, compete, and thrive. Congratulations to the entire team, and welcome to the community!

Every year, the Run for Woods is more than a race. It is a powerful expression of community, compassion, and commitment to the children, adults, and families who count on Woods Services every day. This year’s 12th annual event brought together families, caregivers, staff, advocates, neighbors, and friends to stand behind a mission that changes lives and strengthens our entire region—raising nearly $350,000 to support Woods’ life-changing work serving over 22,000 children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, autism, brain injuries, and medical and behavioral challenges. For so many families, Woods is not simply a provider. It is a lifeline of hope. I’ve been honored to work alongside Woods for years, including securing $1.4 million to for the construction of their new four-story facility, which will provide affordable housing for low-income individuals with intellectual disabilities and those at risk of homelessness. Thank you to Tine Hansen-Turton and the entire Woods leadership team for your vision, compassion, and tireless work. The Run for Woods reminds us what is possible when a community shows up for one another, and I’ll always doing everything I can to support this vital mission and the people and families who depend on it.

For 250 years, America’s story has been carried forward by citizens willing to serve, sacrifice, and build something greater than themselves. That spirit was on display at Core Creek Park, where my friends from the Guardian Angels Foundation brought our community together to celebrate our nation’s 250th anniversary. GAF reflects the best of that tradition: faith in action, service to neighbors, support for women and children in our community, and a commitment to restoring dignity and hope where it is needed most. Grateful to Rev. VK, the entire GAF team, and all who made this celebration such a great tribute to our country, community, and the responsibility we share to carry both forward.

Another great morning of service and community with @BAPSCharities at their Annual Spirit of Service: Walk-Run in Hatfield. This year’s event brought neighbors together in support of VFW Post 32 Lansdale and the Hatfield Volunteer Fire Company—two organizations built on service, sacrifice, and showing up for others. My friends and longtime partners at BAPS continue to be a powerful force for unity in our community, bringing people together across backgrounds and neighborhoods in the shared work of service, compassion, and caring for others. Thank you to the entire BAPS team, to everyone who walked, ran, volunteered, and supported the cause, and of course, an extra special thank-you to one of my best buds, Evan Rothholz!

The Director of National Intelligence is one of the most serious national security roles in our government. I joined @jaketapper to discuss Bill Pulte serving as acting DNI, our successful discharge petition to support Ukraine, War Powers, and the anti-weaponization fund. From intelligence oversight to Ukraine to the proper use of taxpayer dollars, these are questions of judgment and public trust. The standard must be clear: follow the law, stand with freedom, and demand accountability.

On @npratc, Ailsa Chang asked about my vote to end the war in Iran. My answer was the same one I gave the White House and House leadership: we have to follow the law as it is currently written. Iran is a dangerous regime. Its nuclear ambitions are real. And America must confront that threat with strength, clarity, and resolve. But strength abroad cannot come at the expense of the Constitution at home. That is why I introduced my own bipartisan War Powers Resolution: to give space for legitimate ceasefire negotiations while preserving Congress’s role in matters of war and peace. Absent a change in the law, the duty is clear: follow it.

I joined PBS @NewsHour with Amna Nawaz to discuss my vote in support of the War Powers Resolution. This is very simple: follow the law. The War Powers Act of 1973 has two essential requirements: notification within 48 hours, and congressional approval within 60 days of hostilities commencing. Once the 60-day requirement was reached, the answer was straightforward: Congress must follow the law and assert its role. Laws can be criticized and changed. But they cannot be violated. Following the law is patriotic. And I will continue to report to the people of Bucks and Montgomery Counties—not any person or party in Washington.

Each week, we share the stories of individuals from across our district—our Hometown Heroes—men and women whose lives reflect the character, strength, and spirit of the community we are proud to call home. When Charles “C.J.” Winik was sworn in as Chief of the @BristolTwpPD last July, he captured the meaning of the moment in one simple line: “You have given me a rare opportunity to lead a police department in the community in which I was born and raised. There’s no greater privilege.” That is the heart of Chief Winik’s story. Before he was Chief Winik, he was a kid from Red Cedar. A Truman Tiger. A son of Bristol Township. He grew up in the same community he now helps protect. After graduating from @BristolTwpSD in 1997, Chief Winik chose to build his life of service right here at home, joining BTPD and dedicating the next 20 years to serving his neighbors. For nearly two decades, Chief Winik has answered one of the highest calls in public service: putting on the badge, standing watch, supporting his fellow officers, and protecting the families of Bristol Township. In my close partnership with BTPD, I’ve seen how instrumental he has been in every role he has served—from SWAT team member, firearms instructor, and accident reconstructionist to Public Information Officer, Sergeant, Lieutenant, and now Chief. At every step, he has brought professionalism, steadiness, and a deep commitment to the officers he leads and the community that raised him. Yesterday, in a fitting full-circle moment, Chief Winik received the Bristol Cares 2026 ROAR Alumni Award, which honors Bristol Township graduates whose leadership, service, and professional achievement continue to strengthen the community. At a time when our law enforcement officers are asked to carry so much, Chief Winik’s story is a powerful reminder of who wears the badge: neighbors, mentors, parents, friends, and public servants who step forward every day to keep our communities safe. Please join me in congratulating Chief Winik, a true Hometown Hero, thanking him for his service, and showing our gratitude to all of our heroic law enforcement officers who protect and serve our communities every single day.
