Today, I led the @HouseDemocrats in wearing orange to honor Hadiya Pendleton and every life stolen by gun violence. Orange was Hadiya's favorite color, and now, it's a bright beacon for gun violence awareness. We owe survivors more than thoughts & prayers. We owe them action.

Whether you live in a rural community or in a growing suburb of Metro-Atlanta, you deserve to be connected. People just want a fair shot. That’s really what this comes down to- making sure that folks in smaller communities aren’t treated like an afterthought.

Rising healthcare costs from companies simply seeking to raise their bottom line are still a problem outside of the patent space. PBM middlemen raise drug prices, insurance companies have increased discretionary denials while decreasing coverage, and mergers among healthcare providers prevent Americans from having options as to where they get their care. We should not have to accept high-priced healthcare as an inescapable American burden.

Today, I joined @ChrisVanHollen, @RepAndreCarson, @RosaDeLauro, @RepHankJohnson, @RepRoKhanna, and @RepJerryNadler in leading 119 Democrats in a letter condemning the Anti-Muslim Sharia Free Caucus. Religious discrimination has no place anywhere, and in Congress, there ought to be no place for anti-Muslim legislation that discriminates against the faith tradition of American Muslims. As Democrats from many different faiths, we know that our faith calls on us to uphold the dignity and humanity for all. No one should be targeted or live in fear for practicing their faith.

Lifetime appointments to the United States Supreme Court are no longer viable for our democracy. We must change it.

It is rich that MAGA Republicans are standing in front of the American people, pretending to be guardians of judicial integrity. For decades, these same Republicans have spent billions building the Supreme Court that they paid for. America deserves a Supreme Court that can’t be bought.

Just in: @JudiciaryGOP rules that @RepHankJohnson's #SCOTUS term limits bill tacked on to the Keep 9 amendment isn't germane, meaning no vote. But if you're capping #SCOTUS at 9 in a const. amendment, then of course you could add term limits for those 9 to the text. Unreal.

Pride Month is a celebration of authenticity, community, and resilience. The defiant spirit of the Stonewall uprising taught us we must never back down from a fight for dignity. In today's trying times, I proudly stand with LGBTQI Americans in GA-04 and beyond. Happy Pride Month!

Facts matter. Using the traveling public as test subjects is not how we determine whether or not heavier trucks are more dangerous. We know that heavier trucks have higher crash rates, and we must not sacrifice public safety for the sake of expediency.

We have to view this attack on the Southern Poverty Law Center for what it is: an Authoritarian’s attempt to silence law firms, universities, comedians, news outlets, protesters, and public servants who disagree with this Administration by choking off their source of funds.

For decades, MAGA Republicans have systematically chipped away at the impartiality of our Supreme Court. They have already delegitimized our judiciary, yet they now stand before the American people pretending to be guardians of judicial integrity. Today’s blatant attempt to rewrite history would be laughable if the consequences were not so dangerous for our democracy.

Black athletes have helped build college athletics into one of the most powerful and profitable industries in American life. Institutions that profit from Black talent and Black communities have a responsibility to stand with those communities when their fundamental rights are under attack. Silence in the face of injustice is not neutrality — it is complicity. Our statement unanimously opposing the SCORE Act:

With Trump’s war of choice in the Middle East, and rising prices at home, including the skyrocketing cost of healthcare, Republicans have turned their backs on the American people they are supposed to represent.

I was proud to carry on the tradition that the late great Congressman, and my friend, Donald Payne Jr. started by hosting the Build America Roundtable. It was inspiring to be a part of this gathering of transportation experts from around the country who are all committed to building on what our predecessors left us to strengthen our infrastructure and build opportunity for everyone.

It was an honor to meet with @MYAPLANET9 and @SoundExchange to discuss legislation affecting compensation for artists and creators. Artists deserve to be compensated for their contributions to our country and culture, I am committed to making sure that this issue is a priority in Congress.

No matter what goes on in Washington, I'm committed to taking care of home first. Yesterday, over 100 #GA04 residents came through Chamblee City Hall to apply for and renew passports directly with the Department of State at our Passport Pop-Up! See you at the next one?
