I represent Colorado’s Third District, and I will always put our communities first. When I took office, I swore an oath to the Constitution and to the people I serve. Every vote I cast is guided by what is best for this district and the long-term strength of our country. Leadership requires independent judgment and the willingness to stand on principle. My focus remains on delivering results for rural Colorado: • Strengthening American energy production • Supporting our farmers and ranchers • Restoring fiscal discipline • Protecting our water resources • Backing our veterans and law enforcement That’s the job I was elected to do — and I’ll keep doing it with conviction, optimism, and a deep gratitude for the people I serve.

When high sediment levels make Colorado River water difficult to treat, the Town of De Beque needs a reliable backup plan. That’s why I was proud to help secure $320,000 for a secondary water source that will strengthen the town’s long-term water security. Projects like this help ensure families, businesses, and communities have access to clean drinking water when conditions change. This is the kind of practical investment that helps keep rural Colorado strong. #CO03 #MesaCounty

Episode 12 of Hurd in the House is out, with Montrose Police Chief Blaine Hall, Durango Police Chief Brice Current, and Pueblo Police Chief Chris Noeller. What are the biggest public safety challenges facing Colorado today? What has changed in policing over the last decade? And what do police chiefs wish the public better understood about the job? I sat down with these three law enforcement leaders during National Police Week for a candid conversation about crime, community trust, recruiting the next generation of officers, and the realities of keeping communities safe in Western and Southern Colorado. Check out our discussion here: youtu.be/Yh2qKtDh4DQ

Met with advocates from the Alzheimer’s Association and the Alzheimer’s Impact Movement to discuss Alzheimer’s care, support for family caregivers, and ongoing efforts to advance research and treatment. Nearly 91,000 Coloradans are living with Alzheimer’s, and thousands of families across our state are impacted by the disease every day. Appreciated the conversation and the work being done to support patients, caregivers, and families affected by Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. #CO03

A little-known tradition: when a bill passes the House, leadership sends a cookie cake with the bill number on it. Last week we received two. Thank you @SteveScalise for this delivery! H.R. 5911, the Crystal Reservoir Conveyance Act, and H.R. 5631, the Geothermal Energy Advancement Act both passed the House and now head to the Senate. These bills started with ideas and challenges raised by people back home in #CO03, and getting them through the House took a great team effort. The bills go to the Senate. The cookie cakes get shared. I’m grateful for my amazing staff, who put in the work behind the scenes to help move these bills forward.

Spent time with #CO03 resident Lisa Westhoff discussing access to dental care for veterans. When people think about veterans’ health care, they often think about hospitals, clinics, and prescriptions. But dental care matters too, and too many veterans still face challenges getting the care they need. Appreciated the conversation and the work being done to advocate for veterans and improve access to care across Colorado.

Good to meet with fellow Coloradan and Secretary of Energy Chris Wright. We talked about a simple reality: America and the world are going to need a lot more energy in the years ahead. Energy is about more than keeping the lights on. Reliable, affordable energy expands opportunity, reduces poverty, drives economic growth, and improves quality of life. As electricity demand continues to grow, Colorado has an important role to play. We discussed grid reliability, permitting reform, geothermal energy, and the importance of an all-of-the-above strategy that keeps power affordable for families and businesses. The future requires more energy, not less, and Colorado should help lead the way. #CO03

I chaired today’s House Indian and Insular Affairs Subcommittee hearing on legislation to strengthen Tribal communities and expand economic opportunity in Indian Country. We discussed my bill, H.R. 8954, the Tribal Regulatory Reform Implementation Act, which would move the Office of Native American Business Development from the Department of Commerce to the Department of the Interior and help make the federal government a more effective partner for Tribal communities. The bill also builds on the work of former Colorado Congressman and Senator Ben Nighthorse Campbell, whose leadership helped establish this effort decades ago. Glad to see this legislation moving forward. #CO03

“We need to make sure that it is voters choosing their representatives, not politicians choosing their voters.” Redistricting should strengthen confidence in our elections, not undermine it. That’s why I’m working with Republicans and Democrats through the Problem Solvers Caucus to identify bipartisan reforms that promote fairness, transparency, and public confidence in the redistricting process. Watch more from my interview with Democratic colleague @RepSaludCarbajal. #CO03
Partisan redistricting is a race to the bottom. @RepJeffHurd and @RepCarbajal joined @CNN’s The Situation Room to discuss the bipartisan efforts of the Problem Solvers Caucus’ new working group on gerrymandering. Competitive elections make for a healthier democracy and a more functional Congress.

Met with members of the Air Line Pilots Association to discuss aviation safety, modernization of our national airspace system, and emerging technologies that can help keep air travel safe and efficient. Appreciated hearing directly from First Officer Anthony Miles of Durango, along with other Colorado pilots, about the realities they see in the cockpit every day. Their perspective is important as Congress considers policies affecting aviation safety, FAA modernization, and the long-term reliability of our air transportation system. Colorado depends on a safe, efficient aviation network, and conversations like these help ensure decisions in Washington are informed by the professionals who operate it every day. #CO03

In Washington, we talk a lot about metrics. But are we measuring the right things? Last week, I asked Forest Service Chief Tom Schultz a simple question: how do we best measure progress in forest health and resilience? We can count acres treated, dollars spent, or board feet harvested . . . those metrics matter. But the real goal is healthier forests, greater resilience, and safer communities. Good policy starts with defining success clearly. If we don’t know what outcome we’re trying to achieve, it’s hard to know whether we’re making progress. With another challenging wildfire season ahead in #CO03, that’s a conversation worth having.

Eighty-two years ago, thousands of brave Americans crossed the English Channel and stepped into history. On D-Day, they faced extraordinary danger with unwavering determination, liberating Europe and defending freedom around the world. Today, we honor their service and remember the sacrifices made by the Greatest Generation. 🇺🇸

A quick update from the airport heading home to #CO03. This week, the House passed two more bills I introduced. That’s progress on issues ranging from water and public lands to energy and infrastructure. The details matter, but the approach is simple: listen carefully, work hard, and keep moving solutions forward. Now on to the Senate.

Big news for Colorado. Congratulations to @RepJeffCrank for helping secure this major investment in our state’s space and national security future. A new Space Force operations facility and thousands of high-skilled jobs would strengthen Colorado’s leadership in aerospace, support our national defense, and create economic opportunities that benefit communities across the state. Colorado continues to be at the forefront of the next generation of space and defense technology. This is a win for #CO05, a win for Colorado, and a win for America. ‘There will be thousands of new space jobs’: Space Force considers $250 million investment in southern Colorado kktv.com/2026/05/29/space-fo…

I appreciate the Grand Junction Daily Sentinel's editorial recognizing the importance of preserving the historic Shoshone water rights. These flows are critical to Western Colorado agriculture, ranching, recreation, rural communities, and long-term water reliability across the Western Slope. This achievement reflects years of work by local water leaders, agricultural producers, conservation partners, elected officials, and stakeholders across Colorado who stayed focused on finding a practical solution. I was proud to help secure the federal support needed to move this effort forward. Water issues in the West require persistence, partnership, and people willing to work together to get results. This is an accomplishment Western Colorado can be proud of. #CO03 gjsentinel.com/opinion/edito…

Before coming to Congress, I had the privilege of serving as DMEA’s counsel for nearly a decade. I saw firsthand their commitment to keeping electricity affordable and reliable while expanding high-speed internet access across rural Western Colorado through Elevate. Grateful for the work DMEA continues to do to serve its members and strengthen communities across #CO03.

“We’re not looking for a perfect map. We’re looking for a process that people can trust.” Redistricting should be about public trust, not partisan advantage. That means stable rules, transparency, and fair standards that apply regardless of which party is in power. Our institutions work best when the public has confidence in the process. Listen more on the bipartisan working group on gerrymandering in my NPR interview with @RepDebDingell

I appreciate CEBA’s support for the Geothermal Energy Advancement Act. This bipartisan package brought together five geothermal bills into one commonsense solution. Now it’s time for the Senate to act!
Replying to @CEBAPower
Thank you to House leadership, @RepWesterman, @RepHuffman, @RepJeffHurd, and @RepSusieLee for their support of this critical electricity source. "Now it’s time for the Senate to advance this commonsense policy solution, providing needed regulatory certainty to ensure a thriving American geothermal industry." -@REnglandDC, CEBA Sr. Director of Gov. Affairs

Yesterday, the House passed the Geothermal Energy Advancement Act, H.R. 5631. I was proud to co-lead this bipartisan effort with Rep. Susie Lee (D-NV), bringing five geothermal bills together into a single package that will help cut red tape, improve permitting coordination, and support more reliable American energy production. This is a practical step toward strengthening America's energy future and expanding one of the most promising forms of always-on domestic energy. #CO03 Watch me speak about my bill below.
