Our base should not have to beg @SenMcConnell and @LeaderJohnThune to pass something as critical as securing and safeguarding our elections. Period.  I can't think of anything more arrogant than ignoring the will of the people, especially when they're the ones who gave us majorities in the House and Senate. This inaction will not only cost us in the midterms but will also cost our republic.

My political hero happens to be our first president. George Washington believed in a legislature made up of everyday folks. He believed that elected officials should serve for a season and go home. I would wager that he would feel the same about bureaucrats with authority. If you stay too long, you end up corrupt. @POTUS is exactly right. For most of my life, we have had an agricultural trade SURPLUS in this country. Farm country is now facing a crisis because of the failed leadership of the last four years. Under Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi, the U.S. failed to negotiate a SINGLE agricultural trade deal. How dare Congressional Democrats criticize the firemen that are on the scene containing – and working hard to put out – the fire they started.

John Thune and a group of Senate Republicans caved to the Democrats today on DHS funding because they got mad at President Trump's anti-weaponization fund. Yet these very same senators, just a few months ago, fought tooth and nail to pay themselves $500,000 because the FBI spied on them. They'll protect themselves, but not the innocent, everyday Americans who were targeted by the Biden administration. This is why folks hate Washington.
