@RepKellyCassidy alongside Illinois House Democrats passed legislation creating the Court Reminder Program, requiring defendants to receive notices by text message on upcoming court hearings, helping to reduce late appearances and additional penalties.

For the last 3ish years, we’ve been working to address the harms of the old system that protected abusive medical professionals. Proud to have helped bring about meaningful change on behalf of survivors. Thanks to @JBPritzker & @SenatorCelina for your steadfast partnership!

This is what MAGA believes the “GA” part of the acronym symbolizes. It is NOT what our Nation is about. It is NOT what Chicago is or will ever be about. Hate has no home here, and racist, bigoted attacks like this aren’t ones we stay silent about.

🎉 The Illinois legislative session is a wrap. And we have a lot to celebrate. Working families in Illinois have been squeezed by rising prices and corporate greed. This session, we fought back—and we won: ✅ Hidden junk fees are banned. After three years of advocacy, HB 228 passed. The price you see is the price you pay. No more hidden “convenience” or “processing” fees at checkout. ✅Illinois now has the ability to support local guaranteed income initiatives like the Newborn Equity Support Transfer (NEST), laying the foundation for future investments in economic security. These victories were made possible by our coalition partners, advocates, parent leaders, and community members who showed up, spoke out, and refused to back down. This is what fighting for working families looks like. And our fight continues. As we head into the last hours of session, we’re still fighting to continue the pause on tax breaks for data centers & pass the Power Act regulating them & stopping them from passing their energy costs onto consumers. This here is some grade a bs out of Indiana 👇🏼
🚨Big scandal brewing in Indiana after the State admitted it doled out a shocking $655 million 💰💰💰 in data center sales tax exemption subsidies in 2025. It previously had claimed it had given less than $1 million in subsidies in 2025.

Folks keep saying if we don’t welcome these energy leaches with open arms (and wallets), they’ll just go to Indiana. It’s easy to see why. While we’re struggling to ensure people kicked off food benefits can eat, not a penny for these leeches.

If Elect Chicago Women & Affordable Chicago are actually made up of folks who work on these important missions, how about disclosing who the donors are behind them? Don’t take Super PAC names at face value. Don’t forget that “Citizens United” def isn’t about people… 1/3

…and let us not forget “Swift Boat Veterans for Truth” made up entirely of non-veterans…or “Americans for Prosperity.” Wait, that one is semi accurate but only for Americans as wealthy as the Koch Brothers. 2/3

I’m not saying these groups are fronts for conservative groups, I’m saying tell us who is funding these massive media buys. And if the groups won’t do it, the candidates accepting their money sure as hell should be transparent about who is backing them. 3/3

As the 49th Ward Democratic Committeeperson, I’m pissed to read that an outside group is trying to bully Bruce Leon to withdraw from the 9th District race. Getting on the ballot is no small feat, and Bruce met every requirement to earn his place.  x.com/EvRoundTable/status/20… 1/5

As a Jewish woman, I’m equally disturbed by reports that suggest electing Daniel Biss or Kat Abughazaleh would somehow endanger Jewish lives. That claim is disgusting, dangerous, and completely false. This kind of rhetoric has no place in our party or in this race. 4/5

We can run these campaigns without resorting to fear and smears. Our democracy is strongest when campaigns are fair, honest, and decided by voters — and not intimidation or disinformation. 5/5
