President Trump delivered historic tax relief for working families. We amplified it right here in Michigan with no tax on tips, no tax on overtime, and no tax on Social Security. These are the real numbers: Around 300,000 MI tipped workers will save $1,500 in overall taxes Around 500,000 MI overtime workers will save $2,000 in overall taxes Around 40,000 MI seniors will save $500 in state taxes Thank you President Trump and the Republicans in Congress for leading the way!
President Trump's tax cuts are delivering: No tax on tips • No tax on overtime • No tax on Social Security. 💰 Making a HUGE difference for Americans across the country! 🇺🇸

Another BIG WIN in court. Gov. Whitmer and MEDC just caved and agreed to return the $370 million in Democrat slush funds. They tried to shove all this waste, fraud and abuse into slush funds, and I said no way. Our Budget committee took a stand and BLOCKED it. Then the Democrats tried to sneak it out the door illegally, and I sued them to stop that. Now they finally agreed with my demand. That money is coming back to the state and we can find a much better use for it to protect the taxpayers and give them better value. Thank you to the Republicans on the House Appropriations Committee for having the backbone to take a stand and put a stop to this. Their vote to block the work project designation was valid, and the money will be put into the General Fund just as the statute requires. And just like it always should have been. I predicted this on the day we blocked all this wasteful spending back in December ⬇️

I've heard you loud and clear: property tax is one of the biggest issues families and seniors are struggling with in Michigan. My HELP UP (Hall Effectively Lowering Property taxes & Utility Payments) plan will help make life more affordable by ELIMINATING the state property tax and LOWERING your utility bills. Under my plan, Michigan families will save more than $1,400 every year on your property taxes and electric bills. This is a strong solution to a big problem!

After growing government spending by 40% and blowing a $9 billion surplus, Lansing Democrats are STILL telling you we need to: 📈Raise taxes 📈Raise fees 🫳Raid Michigan's rainy-day fund We combed through government spending to prove that departments are overbudgeting and getting tax dollars they never actually spend. By cutting this, we can: 📚Invest in schools 🛡️Invest in public safety 🏛️Invest in local government 📉Make government smaller
Replying to @MI_Republicans
Our budget delivers on our promises to you by building on last year's efforts to change government spending in Michigan. We're investing in what matters most, eliminating waste, fraud, & abuse, and continuing to make government more efficient. We're also shielding Michigan taxpayers from $800 million in Democrat tax and fee hikes, rainy-day fund raids, all while keeping crucial programs funded and reducing state general fund spending nearly $600 million. Onward.

"We don't want Michigan State University to continue to give welfare to illegal aliens." This should not be controversial. House Republicans are holding government and program administrators ACCOUNTABLE.

Michigan's ranking dropped in ALEC's new "Rich States, Poor States" report. This doesn't surprise me. I’ve always said that Lansing has had the same old approach: spend more, tax more, and hope it works out. It never works out, and that’s not how you build a successful state. House Republicans are doing it differently. We are fighting to cut waste, fraud and abuse and pass important reforms like the HELP UP (Hall Effectively Lowering Property taxes & Utility Payments) plan to help families save money on their monthly bills. And that’s just the start. We are going to get Lansing’s broken spending under control and give everyone much better value for their tax dollars.

Last week, we passed a plan to protect children from abuse and help Michigan families. Thank you @ParisHilton for sharing your story and leading on this all across the country, and thank you @RepCavitt for bringing this plan to the House. Michigan’s children need protection, and we took a strong step this week to keep them safe.   The Humane & Ethical Adolescent Transportation plan is important to safeguard our children and make sure they get the best care possible. We will never stop fighting for our children and making sure they grow up safe and protected. I’m glad we were able to get this done together!
Inspired by @repmatthall's HEAT plan, so I’ve written my own: The Humane & Ethical Adolescent Transportation plan also known as #HB5514 by @repcavitt that will ensure youth are treated with dignity and care during transport to treatment - something I was not afforded as a teen. Looking forward to seeing this move forward tomorrow and help protect Michigan’s youth💙 I’ve loved spending time in Michigan (my husband's family is from there), and it would mean so much to see this state lead on protecting kids #HB5514 #MILeg #MIPol @MI_Republicans @MIHouseDems

Thank you @pjqualityguru for believing in our campaign!   Our momentum is growing and so is our team. We had twice as many donors as the House Dems this cycle and raised twice as much money. People believe in the work we are doing, and they want us to keep it going for years to come.   The Democrats want to keep the broken status quo. We need a strong Republican majority and a governor who will help us eliminate waste, fraud and abuse, audit state government and deliver tax relief to the people.
Congrats @RepMattHall! I was proud to donate $20k to HRCC to help them hold the state house! We need to all work together to make Michigan a red state up and down the ticket!

Michigan is 38th in energy affordability. 38th.   We have the natural resources. We have power plants being closed for political reasons. What we don’t have right now is a strategy focused on keeping costs down for families and small businesses. That’s not right.   BAD POLICY is what's driving up our monthly bills, plain and simple. Failed Biden-era mandates, rate hike after rate hike, and reliable power plants put out of commission. It makes no sense, and Michigan families pay the price.   My HELP UP (Hall Effectively Lowering Property taxes & Utility Payments) plan puts a stop to it. It will completely wipe out the last three years of rate hikes (saving families about $500/year) and get us back to what matters: RELIABLE, AFFORDABLE power!

The ol' Lansing two step... by politician Kevin Hertel. He tells his district he supports Selfridge, but then he pulls a bunch of procedural nonsense and double talk and kills the funding for the base because the Lansing insiders told him to. Just do the right thing @Hertelforsenate. You always tell people you support the base. But your vote today screwed Macomb County. This is why everyone hates two-faced politicians. Millions of dollars in economic impact, thousands of jobs, a new fighter mission, now all at risk. Thanks to Kevin Hertel. Good job @SenAricNesbitt and Senate Republicans forcing the vote so we know who Kevin Hertel really represents.

Mike’s right. This is why our budget cuts funding for Michigan State University’s illegal alien welfare scams. We will NOT support cash handouts for illegal aliens with no strings attached and no verification. Fraudulent schemes like that take money out of our pocket and literally pay illegal aliens to come to Michigan and live off our taxpayers. There is too much waste, fraud, and abuse in the budget, and I’m going to get rid of it. We’re also tightening enforcement to crack down on Medicaid fraud and make sure benefits aren’t being misused. Dead people on the rolls, lottery winners cashing in, out of state schemes. It’s happening right now, and it's all wrong. Taxpayer money should ONLY go to the people who actually need our help. My plan would make that the LAW. I’m glad to see more people calling this out. We need a governor who’s ready to work with us to protect taxpayer dollars and restore some common sense. We're fighting hard to give people better value for their tax dollars, and we won’t stop.
NEW AD: Rampant waste, fraud, and abuse is ANOTHER tax on hardworking Michiganders.  I know because as Attorney General, I charged 55 illegal aliens in a major Medicaid fraud scheme that led to the recovery of more $350 million in Medicaid fraud that I returned to taxpayers and led to numerous criminal prosecutions and convictions. I did this while cutting my own office staff size by 20% and returning money to taxpayers every year. Now we know today that fraudulent programs like Rx Kids are giving DIRECT cash payments to illegal immigrants, and Whitmer requested $20 million more for that program in her latest budget.  Anyone can talk about DOGE-ing waste, fraud, and abuse, but I have actually done it! As your Governor, I will find every bit of it, eliminate it, and put that money back in the pockets of hardworking Michiganders!

Our bill honoring a true Southwest Michigan hero was signed into law this week. Master Sergeant Gregory T. Kuhse served our country for 19 years and gave his life in Afghanistan in 2015. He was a leader, a mentor, and a man who always put others first. And he was also a devoted husband and proud father. The portion of US-131 between I-94 and Parkview Avenue in Kalamazoo County will soon stand as a daily reminder of his sacrifice. I’m grateful to his wife, Torri, and family for allowing us to help tell MSgt Kuhse’s story. His legacy will not be forgotten!

I’ve been saying this for a long time: we have to get repairs to Selfridge done in May. Gov. Whitmer agrees, and so does the Air Force. Securing the new fighter mission at Selfridge is a time-sensitive and critical investment tied directly to our economy and national security. We need to make sure Michigan doesn’t miss out because we moved too slow. House Republicans have already moved a plan to fund the improvements to the base. We sent that plan to the Senate, and the governor is waiting to sign it. The only hold up are the Senate Democrats. There’s no reason to keep waiting. Kevin Hertel and Senate Democrats need to pick up the pace. Hertel talked a big game about supporting the base, but now we're at risk of losing the mission because of his delays. This bill is too important to get held up and stuffed full of everyone's pork projects. Our military readiness and our economic future depend on it.
