Senate Resources has heard about tax breaks for the AKLNG at more than 20 meetings. The House Resources Committee chaired by @RepMaxineDibert has had a similar number of meetings. Fairbanks may benefit greatly-but only if a 45-mile line is also part of the project! #akleg
My E-news has dropped.

Excited to get training started! FIRE OPPS 101. I will learn and experience some of the things these strong men and women do on a daily basis including: understanding fire behavior & attacking it; urban search and rescue; auto extrication; cardiac arrest and more! #akleg
At the AMA Summer kick-off BBQ. Responsible mining is a key part of our economy in the Interior. My grandfather first emigrated from Sweden to be a miner long before Alaska was a state. Mining employs Alaskans & will provide economic returns for our state for generations. #akleg
Thanks to the 1000s of educators across Alaska who have worked tirelessly for months. I know firsthand how stressful your jobs are in the face of criticism from those who don’t understand the difficulties of your mission. You’re doing a great job. Alaskans appreciate you! #akleg
Adopting BBCE, broad based categorical eligibility, was a major legislative goal of mine. Thank you @rep_mina for your hard work! #akleg

AK Legislature has adjourned sine die!
Care to read about the FY25 budget & what transpired over the last days? Check out Maxine’s Message at:
bit.ly/4aniUbh sine die literally means to adjourn “without a day.” For lawmakers, it signifies "time to go home." #akleg
36 hrs until adjournment time! I will focus on advocating for my top priorities including substantially increasing education funding, lowering the cost of energy for Alaskans, and improving efforts at recruiting/retaining our public safety & education workforce. Buckle up! #akleg
Yesterday I successfully amended HB147, my retired teacher lifetime certificate bill into Representative Himschoot’s bill, HB 230. It then passed by the House as a package, passing by a vote of 39-1. I am hopeful that the Senate can move and pass the bill quickly.
#akleg 🧵
My bill is designed to incentivize retired teachers to obtain their lifetime teacher certificates. Schools face an understaffing crisis. often schools cannot find substitute teachers. The bill helps our skilled retired teachers bring experience back to the classroom. #akleg
Care for an update on education funding or the importance of an improved retirement for our public safety employees & educators ?

Back in Fairbanks on an amazing day! Got to run the first 5k of the season! The Fairbanks Symphony Orchestra Beat Beethoven race is in the books. I was able to finish the 5k race before the end of Beethoven’s 5th Symphony! Looking forward to a great summer of running! #akleg
I had an amazing visit with former UAF Chancellor, Marshall Lind. He served as chancellor at UAF from 1999 to 2005. Before that he served 12 years in charge of University of Alaska Southeast!! This amazing Alaskan also served as Alaska’s Education Commissioner 1972-1983. #akleg
