This is a government takeover. Plain and simple. Elon Musk and DOGE should be nowhere near the CDC.   DOGE is something Trump and Elon made up to act as their undemocratic attack force. #FireElonMusk

Maternal health impacts the entire family. That's why I met with the Dadvocates of 4Kira4Dads to discuss how fathers can support healthy pregnancies, advocate for their loved ones, and help improve maternal health outcomes. Building healthier families and safer outcomes takes all of us.

I co-led the introduction of the Right to Contraception Act because millions of people use contraception every day to protect their health, protect the health of others, or manage medical conditions.   The House passed this legislation in 2022, and I signed @RepFletcher's discharge petition to force another vote on the floor so we can secure the right to contraception for people in the #FightingFifth and across the country.

My colleagues and I wore orange in honor of Hadiya Pendleton and every family whose life has been forever changed by gun violence. Gun violence is a public health crisis. During National Gun Violence Awareness Month, we recommit ourselves to finding common-sense solutions and working together to build safer communities in the #FightingFifth and across the country.

At a time when diversity and inclusion efforts are under attack, we cannot afford to move backward. LGBTQ Americans deserve a seat at every table—including in our financial institutions. That's why I reintroduced the PRIDE Act, legislation that ensures LGBTQ inclusion is part of federal diversity efforts across our financial regulatory agencies. Everyone deserves a fair shot at opportunity, representation, and success.

Reporter: Are you concerned, Mr. President, about the latest inflation number which came out this morning? Trump: No, I love it. I love the inflation.

The Congressional Progressive Caucus is united by a simple belief: government should work for the people. My colleagues and I are fighting for affordable healthcare, reproductive freedom, voting rights, economic justice, and opportunity in the #FightingFifth and beyond.

When anonymous LLCs buy up property and hide who owns it, families pay the price. Witnesses testified that illicit money flowing into American real estate can drive up housing costs and make it harder for working families to buy a home. Congress passed the Corporate Transparency Act to address this problem but Republicans want to roll it back. Families deserve to know who is buying up property in their communities and a fair shot at homeownership.

As families in the Fighting Fifth struggle to fill their gas tanks, pay for doctor's visits, keep food on the table, and keep a roof over their head, Republicans are pushing a $70 billion blank check for ICE through Congress without a shred of reform, oversight, or accountability. At the same time, they are backing Trump's $1.8 billion slush fund for January 6 insurrectionists. Last year, Republican yes-men cut healthcare and food assistance to pay for Trump's billionaire tax cuts. Now, instead of taking action to make life more affordable for Americans, Republicans are spending even more money on ICE’s violence and creating a fund that allows Trump to reward his friends. Republicans are complicit in Trump’s corruption.

Receiving the Spark Award from KABOOM! (@kaboom) is an honor and a reminder of our work ahead. Every child deserves access to safe spaces where they can play, explore, and build friendships. That's why I'm fighting to expand equitable access to parks, playgrounds, and community spaces for families in Georgia's #FightingFifth and across the country. Thank you to KABOOM! and CEO Lysa Ratliff (@lysaratliff) for your partnership and for your work to ensure every child has the opportunity to thrive.

I had a great conversation at the Netroots Nation Fireside Chat (@netroots_nation) with Rep. Justin J. Pearson (@justinjpearson) and Elizabeth Booker Houston (@booker_squared) about the fight for fair representation, protecting voting rights, and Black political power As Republicans continue using gerrymandering to silence communities and dilute our voices, we must remain committed to ensuring voters choose their representatives—not the other way around.

Everyone deserves to feel safe traveling across Atlanta and the metro area. My office has been in regular communication with MARTA, and we are working closely with local leaders and transit officials to support efforts that keep riders and transit workers safe. Given this Administration's pattern of targeting communities it disagrees with, I have serious concerns about this investigation. If the Administration is truly concerned about public safety, it should focus on providing resources and support—not launching politicized investigations. The priority must be protecting riders, supporting transit workers, and strengthening the transit systems Georgians rely on every day. I have confidence in our local leaders and regional partnerships to meet that challenge as Atlanta prepares to welcome the world for this summer's World Cup.

Stories matter. Access matters. Connectivity matters. I hosted leaders from STARZ (@STARZ) to discuss the evolving media landscape, consumer privacy, and the importance of ensuring communities have the tools they need to stay connected in an increasingly digital world. From broadband access to representation in media, these conversations help inform the work we're doing to expand opportunity across the #FightingFifth and beyond.

The House FINALLY passed the Iran War Powers Resolution that demands Trump remove U.S. armed forces from hostilities in Iran unless explicitly authorized by Congress. Only Congress has the power to declare war, and Trump has repeatedly involved America in dangerous and unconstitutional conflicts that cost American lives and fuel the affordability crisis hurting working families at home. It is past time for Congress to rein in this reckless administration and end this war before it becomes an endless one.

Governor Kemp allowed Georgia's gas tax suspension to expire, adding roughly 30 cents per gallon to the price of fuel. Georgian's are already paying the price for Trump's illegal war. With gas prices expected to climb to around $4.10 per gallon, the average Georgia household could spend an additional $75-$95 dollars each month, adding to the affordability crisis. For families across the #FightingFifth already stretching every dollar, that's money that could be going toward groceries, rent, childcare, or healthcare.

Protecting voting rights and fair representation takes partnership. As Georgia Republicans’ special session on redistricting approaches, it is critical that leaders at every level work together to meet this moment. That’s why I hosted members of Georgia’s Congressional Delegation and state leaders, including Georgia House Democratic Leader Carolyn Hugley (@CarolynFHugly), to discuss how we protect fair representation for Georgia families. We’re fighting to ensure that no Georgian’s voice is silenced and that voters choose their representatives—not the other way around.
