Access to contraception should be a decision made by women and their doctors — not the government. That’s why I signed @RepFletcher’s discharge petition to force a House vote on the Right to Contraception Act to protect access to birth control. As a member of @ReproCaucus, I won’t stop fighting until reproductive freedom is a reality for all.
Six decades of progress for birth control rights and access, yet the right to contraception is still not signed into law. The House passed this critical bill in 2022, and House Democrats are demanding we pass it again. Republican colleagues: join us and stand with the people.

OTD in 1967, the Supreme Court struck down laws barring interracial marriage in the case of Loving v. Virginia. Today, it is important to remember those who fought for their love and won. Every day, we all should fight to protect this progress and equality for all. #LovingDay

On Women Veterans Recognition Day, and every day, we honor the 2 million women who have proudly and courageously served our nation. As the fastest-growing group of veterans, we must protect their access to care and ensure VA remains a welcoming place for all women veterans.

Republicans keep pushing for a national abortion ban and remain hell-bent on restricting access to birth control. Enough is enough! I just signed @RepFletcher's petition to force a House vote on our Right to Contraception Act. I'll always stand up for reproductive freedom.

61 years ago, the Supreme Court recognized the constitutional right to birth control. More than ever before, this right is under attack. That’s why I signed onto @RepFletcher's discharge petition to force a vote on the Right to Contraception Act. I voted for this bill when the House passed it in 2022 and am proud to join the effort to bring this critical bill to a vote again!

The right to birth control is fundamental, and I’m standing w/@ReproCaucus in the fight to protect that right in federal law. This week, I was proud to join @HouseDemocrats in signing @RepFletcher’s Right to Contraception Act discharge petition #RtCA.

#Pride is a month of celebration, and also is a month of remembrance. Today, we remember the 49 people gunned down ten years ago in the Pulse Nightclub in Orlando.

I co-led the introduction of the Right to Contraception Act because millions of people use contraception every day to protect their health, protect the health of others, or manage medical conditions.   The House passed this legislation in 2022, and I signed @RepFletcher's discharge petition to force another vote on the floor so we can secure the right to contraception for people in the #FightingFifth and across the country.

Congress appropriates money—not the president, and not his administration. And yet, congressional Republicans are enabling President Trump to abuse our system, imposing political loyalty tests and effectively establishing his own appropriations system. Meanwhile, much of the grant funding intended to improve life for Americans goes unused. Now 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩'𝙨 waste, fraud, and abuse. nytimes.com/2026/06/02/us/po…

Today, I joined my colleagues on the House steps to mark Gun Violence Awareness Month, wearing orange to demonstrate our commitment to people in #TX07 and across the country who have experienced gun violence. We must work together to #EndGunViolence.

NEW: I just signed a discharge petition to fast track a vote on the Right to Contraception Act. 8 in 10 Americans—of both parties—support protecting access to birth control. But a few extremist lawmakers could threaten this critical health care.  I'm taking action.

This weekend marked the 61st anniversary of Griswold v. Connecticut, the Supreme Court decision that recognized the right of married couples to use birth control. Since that ruling, access to contraception has broadened significantly, but now the GOP are trying to reverse this progress. That’s why I signed the discharge petition to force a vote on the Right to Contraception Act. Eight in ten Americans support the Right to Contraception Act, which ensures the right for Americans to access contraception and protects the right of health care providers to provide contraceptives.

Last night, I signed @RepFletcher's Discharge Petition to force a vote on the Right to Contraception Act. All Americans have a right to decide for themselves whether, how and when to grow their families. The Supreme Court recognized the right to contraception in the ‘60s. But after the current court struck down Roe, we can’t take anything for granted. This bill would enshrine the right to contraception in federal law and create a legal framework to enforce that right. I’m proud to join the effort to bring this bill to the floor.

This week, I joined my colleagues in a letter condemning the hateful Anti-Muslim Sharia Free Caucus. These anti-Muslim attacks and threats have no place in Congress. #TX07 is home to many patriotic Muslim Americans, and I am honored and proud to represent them.
Today, I joined @ChrisVanHollen, @RepAndreCarson, @RosaDeLauro, @RepHankJohnson, @RepRoKhanna, and @RepJerryNadler in leading 119 Democrats in a letter condemning the Anti-Muslim Sharia Free Caucus. Religious discrimination has no place anywhere, and in Congress, there ought to be no place for anti-Muslim legislation that discriminates against the faith tradition of American Muslims. As Democrats from many different faiths, we know that our faith calls on us to uphold the dignity and humanity for all. No one should be targeted or live in fear for practicing their faith.
