Honored to be named Legislator of the Year by the Ohio Fire Chiefs’ Association. As a firefighter’s son who grew up in the firehouse with my dad, this award means the world to me. I’ll always have the backs of Ohio’s first responders.

Sept. 2005: I had never seen this picture until yesterday. It was when my dad returned from Hurricane Katrina relief work.
Seeing this picture reminds me how thankful I am for my dad’s 35 years of service. This will always be a reminder of the service and sacrifice I strive for.

The people we elect to make the laws should be the ones who actually make the laws, not unelected regulators who regularly write “rules”’ with binding legal effect, but without legislative authorization. Time to pass the REINS Act federally & in each of the 50 states.
