Happy #NationalFishingandBoating Week! In #LA02, anglers play an important role in driving the economy, supporting jobs, and protecting our nation’s waterways. Let’s celebrate this week by getting out on the water!

10 years ago, clubgoers at the Pulse Nightclub in Orlando were attacked for being part of the LGBTQI community. We solemnly remember the 49 lives lost and honor their memory by recommitting to the fight against hate and discrimination. No one should live in fear because of who they are or who they love.

This year’s Social Security Trustees Report just confirmed what we already know - failed Trump policies are hurting the American people and could lead to cuts that will cause the average senior to lose $500 a month in social security benefits. Social Security is more than just a program - it’s a lifeline for the children, disabled workers, and veterans who rely on them. I won’t stop fighting to protect and strengthen your benefits.

I joined @brianhaldane yesterday on @talk1073 to discuss Men’s Health Month and my inaugural bipartisan Men’s Health Conference. We talked about the importance of early detection, routine screenings, and better awareness. I want to encourage men across Louisiana and the nation to take preventive health care seriously! Today, Louisianians woke up to the highest inflation rates since 2023. Meanwhile, Trump signed a $70 billion ICE and CBP handout into law. Republicans refuse to put American lives BEFORE politics.
Jun 10
Reporter: Are you concerned, Mr. President, about the latest inflation number which came out this morning? Trump: No, I love it. I love the inflation.

Last month, I introduced the Student Suicide Prevention Awareness Act to expand grant funding and encourage schools to display signage with lifesaving information about the 988 Suicide and Crisis Hotline. The mental health and well-being of our students must remain a top priority, and I won’t stop fighting until every young person gets the support they need. Great to chat about this important bill with Students Deserve a SEAT at the Table! @studentsengaged

Big news: @Meta’s America’s Workforce Academy is launching here in New Orleans and Baton Rouge. The Academy will offer paid training, industry credentials, and a guaranteed job in high-demand trades. I’m proud to see Louisiana leading on workforce pathways that pay from day one and put people to work. wsj.com/opinion/high-tech-se…

I recently sent a letter with @RepAdams urging HHS not to delay critical funding for Sickle Cell Disease prevention and care. These programs and organizations are a vital lifeline for patients, families, and healthcare professionals - and every day without renewed funding is a day patients are at risk. I won’t stop fighting until these grants are secured and the sickle cell community has the certainty it deserves.

Twenty years after Hurricane Katrina, we are still dealing with the aftermath of the costliest natural disaster in U.S. history. FEMA’s partnership and resources have been the backbone of Louisiana's rebuilding efforts. I am happy FEMA granted a JIRR program extension and will continue to fight for all funding that my community needs. Read my full statement:
