NO HITTER ALERT - Just had my 2nd no hitter in my Greatest Teams Replay. Tommy Bridges (BY) of the 1940 Tigers no hit the 1954 Indians & won 8-0 in game #826. It was Bridges 2nd shutout & he moved to 9-1. Bridges entered the game with a 5.16 ERA & a hits/9 ratio of 10.51.

I remember hearing Don Sutton lament on the pitch count during his commentary of Braves games. Times have changed for sure.
In 1980 I made 37 starts and threw 251 innings. That is an average of just under 7 innings per start. Average start this year is just over 5 innings. The game isn’t better or worse. It’s different. It’s a MAX effort era. Injuries are frequent and serious. Time to rethink pitching

First, I would like to thank God for the opportunity he has given me to play this game. While this is not how I thought my time in Anaheim would end, I am truly grateful for the memories and friendships that have been created over the past 10 years. Thank you to my teammates

BY THE NUMBERS: I am at the midpoint of my Greatest Teams Replay. Each team has played the other in a 4 game set for a total of 76 games each. Below is a list of "interesting" numbers from my replay:

My replay began in March 2020 with cards I purchased in the 1970's. I have now purchased newer editions of the teams & use as may of them as possible. I expanded the rosters up to 25 players using the newer cards or Steve's APBA card generator.

My goal is to play everyone the same % of games as they played during the actual season. My use of the DH will skew this greatly. Oh well. It is a lot of fun.

I have now completed 640 games of my Greatest Teams Replay. Each of the 20 teams have completed 64 games. Here are my standings showing both leagues & the 4 divisions. Totals are on the bottom line. Green cells indicate the best while the red cells indicate the worse.

Last spreadsheet. This one shows the pitchers with a replay ERA of under 3.00 with a minimum of 64 innings pitched. It is sorted by ERA but, as with the previous spreadsheet, shows a lot more information.

I started this replay in March. I began with packs of APBA cards that I bought back in the 70's. I am happy to say, for Christmas & my birthday, my lovely wife has purchased me the 80 (4 sets) of APBA's greatest teams. I was able to replace my old sets for 13 of my 20 teams.
