LILY TANG WILLIAMS CAMPAIGN CALLS OUT MAGGIE GOODLANDER FOR FAILING TO FILE IN PERSON
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
CONCORD, NH — On the last day of the candidate filing period, Republican congressional candidate Lily Tang Williams today criticized Congresswoman Maggie Goodlander for failing to appear in person at the New Hampshire Secretary of State's Office to register for reelection, instead choosing to submit her paperwork electronically.
"Showing up matters," said Lily Tang Williams.
"Candidates asking voters for another term in office should be willing to take the time to personally file their candidacy paperwork. Granite Staters expect their elected officials to be present, accessible, and engaged—not looking for shortcuts. Filing in person is a time-honored New Hampshire tradition.”
Williams, who personally appeared at the Secretary of State's Office with Secretary of State David Scanlan to file her candidacy, said Goodlander's decision reflects a broader pattern of disconnect between Washington politicians and the people they represent. Maggie Goodlander fits this mold perfectly.
"New Hampshire voters value retail politics and personal accountability," Lily Tang Williams continued. "While I was meeting with voters and filing in person, Maggie Goodlander couldn't even make the trip to Concord to submit her own paperwork. That's disappointing, and it sends the wrong message to the people of the Second Congressional District."
This absence also brings into question Maggie Goodlander’s overall time spent in the 2nd District. From being a fake renter in Nashua while running for Congress in 2024, to her lack of town halls, “This election will offer a clear choice between a candidate who shows up and works for the people of New Hampshire and a career politician who increasingly seems more comfortable operating from afar," said Williams.
The filing period for federal candidates officially opened last week at the New Hampshire Secretary of State's Office in Concord, culminating today after 8 full days.
