Tottenham resident, here to help raise awareness of the issues in the borough. Likes and retweets not endorsement. Mostly things related to regeneration.
Lendlease now owns you. @luke_harrison, thanks for voting against. John Bevan abstained? Surprised. I just can't believe the lives of so many are in the hands of so few. But that's life, I guess. And look at the mess we're in.
So Haringey cllrs Barbara Blake, Reg Rice, Nicola Bartlett, Lestor Buxton, Ajda Ovat, Alexandra Worrell, #RedEmina, and Matt White voted to let developer Lendlease get a planning hand on North Tottenham. I think John Bevan abstained, and Lib Dem Luke Cawley-Harrison voted against
Concert alert. If driving to see @Pink at the @SpursStadium, you can park on the Peacock Estate. Directly opposite the stadium. It's a private industrial estate facing CPO from the local council. So, show some support. Best place to park.
Rebel Borough - you're responsible for compulsory purchasing mostly BAME businesses that own and operate on their own land and have been a part of the community for decades to build fancy new flats for fancy people. Shameless.
Dear Joe,
of course it must have been fantastic to have discussions in a sanitised environment where no awkward questions such as social cleansing of micro traders & small businesses from their own properties are asked...
There is no benefit to us
#SmallBusinessSaturday is here!
Hear from Cllr Leader @perayahmet about how we can support the local businesses that make our borough amazing.
Let's make a big impact by shopping locally and spreading the love to those who pour their hearts into their businesses.
In October, 👮♀️we issued 289 late-night parking fines 🎟️ for cars parked where they shouldn't be🚙🚫
This behaviour will not be tolerated in #Haringey✋
We are working hard to cover more areas to reduce anti-social and dangerous parking.
#VisionZeroLDN, #RoadSafetyWeek
ALT Fined. Illegal and dangerous parking puts pedestrians and drivers at risk. We are taking action.
(21st November 2023) Tottenham community solidarity with High Road businesses objecting to the Lendlease #Haringey Gentrification Labour Ltd Cab cllrs CPO application to force them to sell up cheaply and make way for a private company's profits. A betrayal of the StopHDV success.
ALT Save Our Shops banner outside Chick King on the High Road.
Powerful words for the CPO inquiry inspectorate to consider. Business objector “Mr Tryfonas said accepting new premises would mean "losing everything we have as a family: our freeholds, the rest of the business, my mum's house, my sister's house". bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-lo…
Madness that a local authority can abuse their power and issue a compulsory purchase order to demolish homes and businesses that own the land they operate on without their consent. Some of these businesses have been there for years - only to be told to do one. Keep fighting!
Displaced residents share anger over High Road West compulsory purchases
An ongoing public inquiry is hearing evidence from Tottenham residents served compulsory purchase orders by Haringey Council

Big respect to this man from @chickking_ for his role in today’s session of the CPO inquiry. Standing up for his rights & others objecting to @haringeycouncil & its quest to take away his family business, family homes & freehold properties
Listening to this Spurs public inquiry, and there's someone who worked for ARUP and now works for Tottenham saying businesses were consulted and supported the idea of a leisure destination? Is that true? And were they told that they'd be demolished to make way for it?
We know Haringey Cabbie cllrs are focused on acquiring the CPO power to force Tottenham residents n businesses to sell for gentrification partner Lendlease, but surely @BruceCastleLab cllrs can keep Brunswick Square N17 clean n clear? @ErdalDogan19@IbrahimAli1_ FYI@Michelle_Saf
There’s an ongoing compulsory purchase public inquiry for the first phase of the regeneration scheme in North Tottenham. We stand in solidarity with our trader friend, @chickking_ , as he fights against @lendlease —a true David vs. Goliath scenario.
t is good that Peter O'Brien now publicly admits there was no consultation on any plan that retained the Tottenham High Road shops and flats above. But it is a shocking that the Council decided not to ask residents if they wanted the existing shops to remain
WATCH the Love Lane Estate N17 CPO Inquiry online teams.microsoft.com/dl/launc… And hear from.Lendlease witnesses why Haringey Gentrification Labour cllrs should have the legal OK to force residents & businesses to sell up. Shameless betrayal of Tottenham Community. #NOMisunderstanding
I watched this bit. And on several occasions, Lendlease were caught out. I genuinely had to check my internet connection because she froze so much. #Caught#noplanLendlease#ShameonyouHaringey
CPO Inquiry Day Two - Lendlease were questioned by the lawyer for the Tryfonos family (who own High Road properties) on whether the agreement with Haringey requires the delivery of the Core Requirements & community facilities. The developer said they take these very seriously.
A 'false' fire alarm at BGAC meant the CPO attendees had to get outside. Hope it wasn't a Haringey plot to give Degen's Peter O'Brien a breather and give him correction points to make. #NOMis He has admitted there's never been a consultation with option to retain High Road shops.
