Shot oโ€™clock! Just took my 6th dose of reta. I was pretty hungry yesterday, but honestly thatโ€™s expected sometimes. Didnโ€™t cave though because the mission is bigger than cravings. Good health matters more. I can confidently say adding this to the toolbelt with a balanced diet, gym, and good sleep has been an absolute game changer. -Patient023 #Retatrutide #GLP1 #WeightLossJourney #Reta #Patient023

๐Ÿ’‰ Phase 3 retatrutide patient. Week 11 starts tomorrow. Currently on 4mg of reta. ๐Ÿง  Biggest lesson so far: The results arenโ€™t coming from one big change. Theyโ€™re coming from dozens of tiny ones. ๐Ÿ‹๏ธ Adding weight to the bar. ๐Ÿšถ Walking faster on the treadmill. ๐Ÿฅฆ Swapping lower-volume foods for foods that keep me fuller. ๐Ÿฅ Adding gold kiwi. ๐Ÿ’Š Keeping the supplements that help. Cutting the ones that donโ€™t. This week Iโ€™m looking at my diet again to see if I can save calories anywhere without sacrificing protein or performance. Small adjustments. Then watch the data. Thatโ€™s whatโ€™s working for me. ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡ฝ Mexico on Friday. ๐Ÿ’‰ Shot #11 tomorrow. Letโ€™s have a week weโ€™re proud of!

๐Ÿฅฉ Need some help from the protein experts. 4mg of reta has me hovering around 2100-2300 calories per day. The problem: Iโ€™m consistently coming up about 20g short on protein. Not looking for another protein shake. What are your favorite low-calorie ways to sneak in an extra 20g of protein? Always looking to improve.

๐Ÿง  My hot take: The first month on reta felt like somebody unplugged my brain, rewired it, and plugged it back in. The first couple weeks? ๐Ÿ˜ด Tired ๐Ÿ” Food was meh ๐ŸŽฎ Hobbies were meh ๐Ÿบ Drinking was meh Everything was just meh. Then something weird happened. The energy came back. The hobbies came back. The enjoyment came back. The only things that didnโ€™t seem to come back were the bad habits. Was that just me? Or did anyone else experience something similar?

๐Ÿง  Mental update while being on Reta The weight loss has been great. But a strange part of this journey has been what happens when you stop numbing yourself. For years I distracted myself with food, alcohol, isolation, and whatever else would help me avoid dealing with things. Then one day it felt like I woke up. And waking up has been weird. I find myself looking at my life differently. Looking at the things I built while I was numb. The things I ignored. The things I allowed. The things I lost. I have regrets. But I also have a lot of gratitude. Iโ€™ll randomly walk outside and think: โ€œDamn itโ€™s a good day to be alive.โ€ And actually mean it. I find myself looking at my dad and realizing heโ€™s getting older. Thinking about how fast time moves. Thinking about how none of us are here forever. That thought used to scare me. Now it mostly reminds me not to waste the time I have left. Iโ€™m not who I want to be yet. But at least Iโ€™m awake now. ๐Ÿ’‰ Patient023

๐Ÿง  The glucagon receptor is actually what made reta so interesting to me. Most people talk about appetite suppression. As an obese guy with high blood pressure I wasnโ€™t just thinking about eating less. I was thinking about: ๐Ÿ”ฅ burning more energy ๐Ÿ“‰ reducing body fat โšก improving metabolic health (So far BP: 152/93 โ†’ 135/85) The idea of a drug that could help me eat less AND potentially increase energy expenditure caught my attention immediately. Whether that translates into better real-world results is still being studied. But from day one, thatโ€™s what made reta stand out from the other GLPs to me. Not just less food. A different approach to the entire energy equation.

Yup! @roccaJ21 changed my life by telling me about these.
Eating the kiwi with skin doubles the fiber content and adds about more folate, vitamin E, and polyphenols. Golden kiwis are the absolute best. Easier to eat with the skin on too.

๐Ÿง  Watching My 600-lb Life: People see the food. I see the coping mechanism. Most of the stories start the same way: Loss. Trauma. Abuse. Neglect. Chaos. Then years later everyone focuses on what theyโ€™re eating. Whatโ€™s interesting to me about GLPs is they can strip away some of those coping mechanisms surprisingly fast. Not just food. ๐Ÿ” Food. ๐Ÿบ Alcohol. ๐ŸŽฐ Gambling. ๐Ÿ“ฑ Endless scrolling. The stuff you used to run to when life got hard. And when those things lose their grip, youโ€™re left with a question: Now what? I think thatโ€™s why some people struggle so much emotionally in the beginning. Itโ€™s not just weight loss. Sometimes youโ€™re losing a survival strategy youโ€™ve been using for years.

๐Ÿง  If I could restart reta at 300 lbs knowing what I know now: ๐Ÿฅฉ Prioritize protein. ๐ŸŒพ Prioritize fibre. ๐Ÿ’ง Buy electrolytes immediately (@sportdrink duh) ๐Ÿš Stop being scared of carbs. ๐Ÿ“‹ Have a meal plan before your first shot. ๐Ÿ“Š Track EVERYTHING. The biggest lesson? Your hunger cues are going to change. Learn the difference between: ๐Ÿ” hunger ๐Ÿ˜ด fatigue ๐Ÿ’ง dehydration ๐Ÿค” boredom The more data you have, the easier it is to make adjustments. ๐ŸŽฏ Donโ€™t just take the shot. Have a plan.

๐Ÿ’‰ Shot #10. Still haven't been cut off ๐Ÿป ๐Ÿ’‰ 4mg retatrutide ๐Ÿ“… Day 64 ๐Ÿ“‰ 8.2% body weight gone ๐Ÿ‹๏ธ New goal this week: Turn the weights up. I've been conservative in the gym because I wanted enough gas in the tank to finish every workout. Now I feel like I'm leaving gains on the table. ๐Ÿ“ˆ Time to find out what happens next. ๐Ÿ”’Locked in!

๐Ÿค” Question for the researchers in here: As reta doses go up, the glucagon receptor gets turned up more too. For those of you on higher doses did you notice any changes in how you fueled yourself? More carbs? Better recovery? Different energy levels in the gym? Iโ€™m not asking because I think glucagon magically needs carbs. Iโ€™m asking because as the dose goes up, Iโ€™m wondering if fueling and recovery become more important than they were at the lower doses.

๐Ÿ’‰ Week 1 on 4mg after spending 8 weeks on 2mg: First 2 days felt like the suppression dial got turned to max. Iโ€™d eat something small and feel like I just crushed an XL pizza ๐Ÿ• Then my body leveled out. Now suppression feels stronger than 2mg, but manageable. Main things Iโ€™ve noticed: โ€ข Eating slower is non-negotiable โ€ข Eat too fast and I feel like Iโ€™m going to explode โ€ข Minor nausea about 30 minutes after meals. Nothing crazy, but definitely noticeable โ€ข Week average RHR is up about 2 BPM. Nothing concerning, but something Iโ€™ll be monitoring ๐Ÿ‘€ โ€ข Sleep has actually been great this week ๐Ÿ˜ด I've had green recoveries every day. So far, so good. Feels like 4mg came in loud, then settled into what it needed to be.

๐Ÿฅฃ This yogurt bowl has become a cheat code for me. Every morning: โ€ข 3/4 cup Greek yogurt โ€ข 1/4 cup peanut butter dark chocolate granola โ€ข 50g berries โ€ข 2 tbsp chia seeds โ€ข 2 tsp pumpkin seeds โ€ข 5g raw honey 431 calories 29g protein 13g fibre Tastes delicious and this thing jump starts my GI system like nothing else.

Iโ€™m pretty conservative with the block button unless someone is personally disrupting my Xperience. But from here on out when I see people calling GLP1s โ€œcheatingโ€ they are instantly getting the block. The number of people that these peptides have helped is remarkable. I wish it wasnโ€™t necessary. I wish we all lived in unity with nature. Eating whole foods and living in tune with circadian rhythm. Thatโ€™s just not the case though. Iโ€™d rather adapt with a modern tool than cling to some holier than thou dogmatic approach that realistically works for only a small portion of the population.

๐Ÿง  One thing I didnโ€™t expect with reta: By week 2 I was having a full blown identity crisis. My life revolved around: ๐Ÿ” Eating ๐Ÿบ Drinking ๐ŸŽฒ Chasing the next dopamine hit Then all of a sudden I didnโ€™t really want to do those things anymore. I spent a weekend almost grieving the old version of myself. Sounds dramatic, but thatโ€™s how it felt. The weird part? I thought Iโ€™d slowly ease my way into making better choices. Nope. That happened FAST. Then Monday came and I basically said: Alright. If my old habits arenโ€™t coming with me, letโ€™s lock in. That was the moment everything started changing.

๐Ÿง  One thing I've really come to appreciate about this community: Everyone has something to teach. Different doses. Different experiences. Different mistakes. Different wins. I've been soaking up a ton of knowledge from you guys and I'll keep doing it. Feels like we're all trying to figure this thing out together and ultimately chasing the same goal: A healthier, happier life. I hope this page can be a place where people feel comfortable sharing their experiences too.
