People freaked out 12 years ago when I told them to eat steak and put grass fed butter in their coffee. Because cholesterol. I wrote a New York Times bestseller explaining why cholesterol is not the cause of heart disease. People lost a ton of weight, were never hungry, and felt amazing. But they still worried in their smaller clothing. Because cholesterol. And now my buddy Nick just showed it’s possible to have cholesterol at 700 with no heart disease. Follow him. Follow any of the other thousands of physicians who m openly say this now. And if you’ve been following me, you’d have known this a decade ago. 😉
🚨New Paper: "Seven Years of 700 Cholesterol Without Coronary Atherosclerosis: A Lean Mass Hyper-Responder Case Report" Link: doi.org/10.3390/diseases1405… For the past 7 years, I’ve been running what is essentially a natural experiment in cholesterol and heart health. During that time, I’ve largely lived with: 👉Total cholesterol around 700 mg/dl 👉LDL cholesterol between 500–600 mg/dL I recently underwent advanced coronary CT angiography imaging with AI-guided analysis. This is not a CAC. It measures all plaque (soft calcified), with expert interpretation and AI-guided analysis capable of quantifying plaque down to the cubic millimeter (mm3). Now, to address the obvious question: Am I too young for plaque? In brief: No. The clearest comparison is individuals with homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia, who often have similarly extreme LDL/ApoB levels and can develop advanced plaque as toddlers, and even heart attacks as early as age 8. Also, nutrition influencers in their 30s have publicly shared quantified plaque scores from these same imaging technologies. In one recent case, a plant-based influencer in his thirties was found to have 61.3 mm³ of plaque despite having far lower lifetime LDL exposure. (He can identify himself if he so chooses.) My case also isn’t a one-off. There are many individuals like me, including older individuals with similar LDL-C and ApoB without any plaque. The difference is that I’m an unusually well-characterized subject, with extensive metabolic data and health markers tracked over time. You can learn more at the newsletter or open-access paper, linked above. The science of heart health is not settled. And cholesterol is not a simple story. 🚨 If you want to help spread the word... You need to know about The Enhanced Games because it is the biggest thing happening in biohacking this weekend, right before the 14th annual Beyond Biohacking conference in Austin. The International Olympic Committee is quaking in its boots. As they should be with their anti-human ban on most longevity practices for athletes. Over the past couple years I’ve worked with Enhanced Games to help locate a venue and structure how it works. $25 million in compensation is enough to break tons of world record records using biohacking. The basic idea is that athletes can do whatever they want as long as their doctor thinks it’s reasonably safe and they disclose it. 42 athletes including olympians swimming, track, weightlifting performance-enhancing drugs allowed all athletes medically supervised Because this first Games is limited to FDA approved substances the athletes won’t be as fast as they could be. Here’s what they’re using. 91% testosterone 79% human growth hormone (HGH) 62% stimulants (Adderall, modafinil) 50% metabolic modulators (Anastrozole) 41% EPO 29% anabolic steroids (Deca-Durabolin) 5% hormonal support (hCG) And they monitor the living crap out of them… pretty much everything that we do for unlimited.life VIP concierge longevity members. cardiology imaging respiratory testing organ health imaging body composition analysis musculoskeletal assessment neurocognitive screening genomic sequencing biomarkers (blood, urine, saliva) To help make this happen, I became an advisor to the Enhanced Games 2 years ago and signed the Declaration of the Right to Human Enhancement at Oxford, drawing out the ethical framework necessary to make this happen. In front of 200 college professors. I am so stoked for these athletes. They finally got to take the gloves off and are no longer subject to 1970s draconian anti-human substance used policies that make athletes less healthy.

Why ingredient changes don’t always mean healthier food | Layne Norton, Ph.D. (@BioLayne) This clip is from episode # 380 of The Drive which was released on 1/19/26. In the full episode, we cover: -The core arguments against seed oils: the four main claims underlying the idea that seed oils are uniquely harmful, and how well they hold up once major confounders are addressed -The historical trials that shaped the debate: the Minnesota Coronary Experiment, Sydney Diet Heart Study, Rose Corn Oil trial, and later studies replacing saturated fat with polyunsaturated fat -Mechanisms and causality: LDL cholesterol, oxidized LDL, linoleic acid (omega-6), inflammation, -Mendelian randomization, and why lifetime LDL exposure matters more than per-particle oxidation risk -Practical takeaways: industrial processing concerns, cooking oils, real-world dietary fat choices, and how to prioritize nutrition relative to calories, activity, and overall lifestyle factors Listen (Ep. # 380) to the full episode on my website (peterattiamd.com/laynenorton…) or your favorite podcast player.

Lunch today. Here's the recipe and instructions: Pesto Veggies with Black Lentils and Sweet Potato 1–2 servings
 Prep: 15 min
Cook: 25–30 min Total : 40–45 min Ingredients Veggie pesto: * 1 packed cup fresh basil leaves * 2 tablespoons olive oil * 2 tablespoons pine nuts * 1 small garlic clove * 1 to 2 tablespoons water, as needed Vegetables: * 1 cup cauliflower florets * 1 cup broccoli florets * 1/4 cup sliced red onion * 1 small garlic clove, minced * 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved * 1 medium zucchini, sliced * 1 tablespoon avocado oil or and high smoke point oil Lentils and sweet potato: * 1 cup cooked black lentils, cooked in vegetable broth * 1 small sweet potato, peeled if desired and cut into cubes * Water for steaming or boiling Finishing: * 2 oz sliced black Kalamata olives * 1 teaspoon truffle oil, optional * Microgreens for garnish, optional Instructions: 1. Make the pesto * Add basil, olive oil, pine nuts, garlic, and a small splash of water to a blender or food processor. * Blend until smooth or slightly textured, depending on preference. * If needed, add a little more water to help it blend. * Taste and adjust seasoning if using salt. 2. Cook the lentils * Rinse the black lentils if needed. * Cook 1 cup of black lentils in vegetable broth according to package directions until tender but not mushy. * Drain any excess liquid if necessary and set aside. 3. Steam the sweet potato * Place the cubed sweet potato in a steamer basket or small pot with a little water. * Steam until fork-tender, about 10 to 12 minutes. * Set aside. 4. Sauté the vegetables * Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a large skillet over medium heat. * Add the red onion and garlic first and cook for 1 to 2 minutes. * Add cauliflower and broccoli and cook for 4 to 5 minutes. * Add zucchini and cherry tomatoes and continue cooking for another 4 to 6 minutes, until the vegetables are tender but still vibrant. 5. Combine with pesto * Turn the heat to low. * Add the pesto to the vegetables and stir well to coat everything evenly. * If the mixture is too thick, add a small splash of water to loosen it. 6. Assemble the dish * Spoon the cooked black lentils onto plates or into bowls. * Add the steamed sweet potato. * Top with the pesto vegetables. * Add sliced Kalamata olives over the top. * Drizzle with truffle oil if using. * Finish with microgreens for garnish. Serving Suggestion * Serve warm as a main dish for 1 hearty serving or as 2 lighter servings. * This dish also works well with extra lemon juice on top if you want brightness. Health Benefits * Black lentils provide plant-based protein, fiber, iron, and slow-digesting carbohydrates that support fullness and steady energy. * Broccoli and cauliflower supply vitamin C, vitamin K, and glucosinolates, which support antioxidant and detoxification pathways. * Zucchini, tomatoes, red onion, and garlic add antioxidants and phytonutrients that support overall cellular health. * Sweet potato provides beta-carotene, potassium, and fiber, supporting immune and digestive health. * Basil, pine nuts, and olive oil contribute healthy fats and aromatic compounds that support satiety and flavor. * Kalamata olives add heart-healthy monounsaturated fats and a savory finish. * Microgreens add concentrated micronutrients and a fresh garnish.
