Is anyone actually surprised that a party built on rage farming can’t handle but rage farm each other into oblivion? @One_BCHQ #bcpoli

This backfired spectacularly when Christy Clark did it in BC during the 2014 strike. Who is advising you? It just pissed parents off and strengthened resolve amongst striking teachers. #ableg #abed
I’m disappointed that ATA members have rejected the settlement offered, and that union leadership says teachers will likely go on strike October 6, less than one week away. Students and families need to know we are supporting them during this time of uncertainty, so we released our plan today to provide payments directly to families and to support at-home student learning. Alberta’s government has developed a responsible plan to support kids and keep them learning while paying parents back for unexpected education expenses. Learn more about our new at-home learning toolkit, including an instructional video for students and parents, along with our parent payment program here: alberta.ca/parent-supports-d…

Breaking my no Twitter rule to remind #abpoli #ableg folks that the more government attack dogs shame and belittle and mock teachers and students, the more the public turns on government in a teachers strike. Just ask Christy Clark here in BC.
At tonight’s “consultation”… When a high school kid tried to raise concerns about the teachers strike, Bruce McAllister cut the kids mic and then suggested his parents should have beaten him more. Listen to the clip yourself… It’s… Telling. #abpoli #ableg #cdnpoli

Reasons I’m going to l wind down my X. - Feed is full of violent videos - Civil conversation even political sparring is too toxic - Owner is forcing his twisted worldview on us - I had to choose my words carefully to avoid punishment from his algorithm fiddling. #bcpoli #bced

Very supportive of the idea of #bcpoli and #bced leaving Twitter. Liking BlueSky’s commitment to civil discourse. The block function was the only saving grace here at Twitter and that’s leaving in the name of his majesty’s ego. Follow me bsky.app/profile/richinbc.bs…

I feel like the Right and Conservatives do themselves a disservice by calling into question the validity of our elections. It probably turns some of their own voters into skeptics who then don’t vote… costing them elections #bcpoli

Hmmm... what does this do to the Conservative talking points and some pundit analysis about the #bcpoli election? Conservative incumbent government loses in New Brunswick to Liberals. My take? BCNDP and Eby fought hard and held back the surging tide of a "change" election. Bravo
Big news out of New Brunswick 🗳 I hope this change shifts the tone in the legislature. Young queer and trans kids in NB deserve it. #nbpoli #cdnpoli

While we wait for final #bcpoli election results, here’s something to consider 👇 Data guru @vb_jens rightly points out “land does not vote, people do” On the left, results by geographical riding On the right, ridings proportional to vote count

She's running.
I am a proud Liberal voter, registered Liberal, and former Liberal Premier. The Prime Minister has earned the right to make any decision about his leadership on his own - the position of leader is not open. Right now, we all need to be focused on uniting Canadians and working together as Liberals to defeat the divisive Poilievre Conservatives in the next election. Canadians are deeply concerned about the cost of living, the housing crisis, the need to shore up our health care system and the urgent need to fight climate change. Pierre Poilievre thinks simplistic slogans and bombastic rhetoric can solve Canada’s problems. He doesn’t have any solutions. No one in our country benefits from, or wants, the polarization he is peddling.

After the #bcpoli election, will be fascinating to see what happens in New Brunswick today. Like BC, governing party seeking third term. Unlike BC, that party is the Conservatives who polls suggest will lose to the Liberals. Manitoba recently flipped Con to NDP too.

Reiterates my point that BC NDP did very well to fight back against a "change mood". No small feat.

Hey #bcpoli I’ve never been a huge fan of Proportional Representation for electoral reform. But what about runoffs? If no one gets 50% plus 1, the top candidates advance to another round of voting. Lots of countries and organizations do it (including the one I work for).

Another #bcpoli hot take. I think Eby and NDP did well to hold back the surge of a “change” mood that feels continental/global. Incumbent governments regardless of political stripe have been in trouble. Progressive values won. Will be fascinating to see how parties’ tents realign

I have so many hot takes from the #bcpoli election… but the one that captures my imagination the most is thinking about how the B.C. Conservative Caucus will have to figure out how to get along. They elected a mix of some serious people and a bunch of total MAGA wannabes.
