#StopTheBleedDay
When a young surfer severed his femoral artery on a sharp surfboard skeg in Ocean City Beach this past summer, quick-thinking surf beach patroler Katie Greiser sprang into action, creating a makeshift #tourniquet while waiting for first responders to arrive.
The future of our health is at stake next week
Even if we talk less about it in this election than in previous ones
It's not just Obamacare
It's not just access to medications or vaccinations or reproductive health services
And its not just for some people, but for all of us
On this day, NAEMSP remembers and honors the bravery of the first responders who sacrificed their well-being — and for too many, their lives — to save and aid others on September 11, 2001. #NeverForget
Kids returning to school shouldn't have to worry about the threat of gun violence, but yet another community has been tragically affected by a school shooting. AAP mourns with all affected in GA and will continue to advocate for policies to keep kids safe and to #EndGunViolence
There is absolutely no place for political violence in our democracy. Although we don’t yet know exactly what happened, we should all be relieved that former President Trump wasn’t seriously hurt, and use this moment to recommit ourselves to civility and respect in our politics. Michelle and I are wishing him a quick recovery.
Another terrible day in a nation that has been desensitized by the repeated slaughter of Americans.
At least 22 dead, and 50-60 injured in #Maine
This is not just a “shooting” it’s a massacre. The disregard for the sanctity of human life is appalling.

.@SenRickScott: "Can I just say something real quick about what the President has done?

That was a big deal. It helped all these first responders."

Scrolling the news this morning, and it’s literally just one community after another being decimated by #GunViolence
As we celebrate Independence Day on this #4thofJuly, we must not accept this as the norm. This was not the vision of our founding fathers.
Gun Violence leaves a trail of shattered lives, lost dreams, and unbearable pain. It’s a tragic stain on humanity that demands urgent action.
We must unite to prioritize peace, promote empathy, and enact meaningful measures to make communities safer.
What should be tears of joy, are turned into tears of sadness yet again as multiple people are shot at a High School Graduation.
Communities continue to be terrorized by this uniquely American Public Health Crises.

Over the last two decades, more school-age children have died from guns than on-duty police officers and active duty military combined.
Think about that.
Congress, the time to pass stronger gun safety reforms is now.
