✅ Adding thousands of doctors and nurses, funding 50,000 more surgeries, planning new hospital towers in Edmonton, Red Deer, and Calgary, and funding the largest-ever expansion of continuing care.
✅ Introducing patient-focused funding so hospital funding follows patients and the care they receive, helping increase access to surgeries and reduce wait times for procedures.
✅ Enabling dual practice, allowing surgeons to provide both publicly insured and private services, increasing surgical capacity and helping more Albertans get treated sooner.
✅ Expanding access to preventative testing, making it easier for Albertans to identify health concerns earlier, access timely answers, and take proactive steps to manage their health.

This should never have happened. My heart and thoughts are with the loved ones of the person who died, and all Albertans living with a disability.
Every Albertan deserves a life of dignity. But this government is always more focused on scoring political points than considering the real-world impacts of their decisions, like this forced transition from AISH to ADAP.
The government must change course. They can stop this dangerous transition, develop a better program, and treat all Albertans living with a disability with the respect they deserve.

You can’t make this stuff up. Danielle Smith has appointed right-wing academic Jack Mintz to chair a panel that will look into the pros and cons of separatism. Mintz has previously argued that “Albexit” makes sense. And, Smith wants us to believe she’s opposed to separation. 😡
