Jalen Brunson is legitimately going to get standing ovations in every room he walks into in NYC for the rest of his life.

This is the correct take.
There is such a gap between the US and Iranian descriptions of what has been agreed to that the only thing that makes sense is to ignore all the noise until we actually know the facts and to focus on the Knicks in the meantime.

60 days of unfettered oil sales is $8B at $90/barrel.
"The only sanctions relief is a temporary 60-day window on oil sales, which will snap back into place at the end of the 60 days if no deal is reached." U.S. sanctions on Iranian oil (when prioritized and enforced) are one the most powerful sources of U.S. leverage against Iran. That's why, in 2015, they were only removed AFTER the IAEA verified that Iran implemented all of its nuclear commitments, including reducing its enriched uranium stockpile by 98%, removing centrifuges, and adhering to a rigorous monitoring regime. If we waive them now just for opening the Strait of Hormuz, we should therefore not expect Iran to commit to anything close to the JCPOA in subsequent talks. Why would they? And if we threaten to "snapback" those sanctions after 60 days, guess what happens to the Strait?

Don't forget an (allegedly) $300 billion reconstruction plan! Hey White House, I have a few more photo angles on this item. Others are calling, so you got to get in on this now!

Exactly. Even if it’s on the sidelines. From the regime’s perspective, it has faced down the worst unrest in its history, survived a war against the United States, will (allegedly) get billions in sanctions relief, and emerges with the international legitimacy of a signing ceremony alongside global powers. Don’t get me wrong, Iran is in a deep economic hole, its military will take years to rebuild, and the problems that drove the unrest haven’t gone away. But it’s easy to see how Iran would believe—after facing the worst—that better days lie ahead.

Oops, sorry, I was just getting ready for when the official terms of the US-Iran MOU are properly released.
