Some people think we're a card-carrying member of Big Golf Sim and thus our products were borne out of a conference room during an executive retreat for brainstorming product ideas to suck more 💰 out of golfers That could not be further from the truth. We're a small company going up against Big Golf Sim - Fully owned by the inventor (me, the one writing this post) of our product. I developed the Right Edge Putt Tracker purely out of need as I recognized my putting was holding back my scores, but I lacked sufficient time to go to the course to practice putting (family, job, life, etc). The Putt Tracker has contributed so much to completely flipping my putting from a weakness to a strength, forming and running the company as a way to help other golfers experience the same improvement is truly a labor of love at this point. When you submit a question through our website, there's a good chance I'm going to be the one answering. When you receive a Putt Tracker in the mail, it's most likely that I packaged it up. I actually care about your putting. Right Edge Golf, LLC is the polar opposite of this. 👇

We think anyone who cares about their putting needs a Right Edge Putt Tracker, but a Putt Tracker doesn't magically make you a better putter. You still need to learn proper technique (then practice it on your Putt Tracker). I HIGHLY recommend Ross. His videos alone have been a huge help for me - I can only imagine how beneficial it must be to get direct coaching from him as well!
US Open week and Skillest running a sale. Good time to invest in some online putting coaching 😃 I’ll link my profile in first comment. Don’t forget the code USA26 for 20% off 😎

Drake highlights the kind of nuance lost from all the voices these days claiming that "the data" shows that putting isn't very (relatively) important. It is true that beginners are not going to get much relative value from improving their putting, but once you can generally get your ball somewhere around the green in regulation, having true putting skills/ability becomes massively influential (in a positive way) on your scoring ability.
Putting is everything: Yesterday, new irons in the bag, airmailed a couple of greens and shot 3 over on the front. And then... Made a 10 ft putt on 14 for birdie and proceeded to birdie 16,17, & 18. It is so easy to give up when things aren't going well. Sometimes you just have to stay patient for that first 10ft putt to fall. Putting can literally turn a bad round around. I started hitting the ball better because I was making putts. Putting will free you up. I ended up shooting -1 Stay patient and putt well!

The way we handle this in the Right Edge Putt Tracker Simulation and Analysis software: 1. You supply a maximum "leave" distance (x) you would want on a flat putt (we default to 16") 2. At cup distance (D) of 3' and less, your target distance is D x. 3. As cup distance (D) goes from 3' - 20', we adjust your target leave distance (linearly) from x to 0. 4. At cup distance (D) of 20' and greater, your target distance = D (cup distance). We are working on making this "leave" distance dynamic - Using your putt history to suggest to you YOUR optimal target distance at each cup distance that will result in the lowest expected number of putts to hole out.
A simplified “system” for speed; <15ft goal is 1ft past the hole >15ft goal is get within 10% of initial distance I really don’t care if I’m short >15ft. Nobody holes much from there. Stress free 2 putting is nice 👌 Speed matters more than anything else in putting imo.

This is such a great drill being explained here by @drakesmith__. And it's another drill you can do at home with your Right Edge Putt Tracker:
6 Foot Putting Ladder Drill: The purpose of this drill is to teach you distance control to the point where you have the chance to make your putt and reduce the chance you will 3 putt. Place a tee or ball at 6-12-18-24-30 ft from the hole and a club 3 ft behind hole. Hit a putt at each distance from the hole attempting to make the putt or get the ball past the hole but WITHOUT touching/passing the club. Great way to train speed control, process, and focus.

Such an important point by @BigSwingTempo. 👇 Regardless of how good you are, you're going to hit some bad shots. For most, a bad tee-to-green shot = missed green = automatic 1 stroke. But with a solid/good short game, you have a backup plan. A few bad shots no longer ruins your whole round. And while both are obviously important, relatively speaking, it's so much easier to be a good putter than it is to be a good ball striker.
Yesterday I got paired with a handicap who played in college. It was the first time I played with someone that skill level. It was one of the most valuable learning experiences I’ve had so far. Here’s what I learned: 1) I added a new shot to the bag. There was a par 3 where we both put it in the water. Dropped, and I watched how he hit a wedge to the pin. Short backswing, used his wrists to accelerate through the ball, short follow through. Light bulb moment, he was trying to control the spin. “Speed = spin. If you shorten your swing but add speed, you can have the same distances with more spin” He went first, and I tried doing the same thing he did. We both ended 8 feet from the pin. Might have been the most spin I’ve had, it was a 60 yard shot but it landed past the pin and spun back. 2) Wind affected the shot shape he tried to hit off the tee. It was eye opening the skill level involved playing the “best” strategy given any shot. I learned how to aim based off the direction of the wind. With a right to left wind playing a draw, aim more right to the right side of the rough. Was able to keep tee balls in play more than I usually do. 3) His short game and ability to recover was next level. Really emphasized how important that part of the game is. “If you can learn how to pin seek from 40 yards in, your first few shots become less important” He didn’t have perfect tee shots or approach shots, but his ability to scramble made him par almost every hole.

We're all busy with jobs, family, life. Because of that, when we invest our valuable time practicing to improve our golf game, we need to be most efficient with that time and maximize our return (score improvement / time invested). Ross helps with that. 👇
Putting Practice Simplified into 3 steps…

As usual, Ross is spot on! 👇 1. Watch a few of Ross's videos. 2. Determine which point(s) of his lessons/advice would help your putting the most. 3. Keep your putter where it's easily accessible at home, and spend 10-20 mins/day striking putts and focusing on those points.
If you have limited practice time then you’re not alone. Most golfers have families/jobs But putting practice can be done at home. 10-20mins every day or two could go a long way over time Throw some training aids, balls, tees, alignment sticks down to help. So many options 😃

Does it actually work? Just check out our inventor's timeline. 👇
They say "necessity is the mother of invention," and it certainly was in my case. My golf game was stuck treading water around a 6-7 index for a couple of years, and I knew my putting was a "low hanging fruit" if I could just find some time to work on it... "If there was just some device that: 1. Has a small footprint that I could take/use anywhere. 2. Takes no time to set up / start so even a free 10 minutes can = 10 minutes of putting. 3. I could set the green speed, and it would accurately show me how far each putt rolls out on that green. Then I wouldn't have to go to the course to practice and dial in my distance control." With golf tech blowing up, I was honestly surprised nothing like this existed already. So I built it. And so far it's helped lower my 6-7 index by ~50% (was as low as a 3.2 at the end of last season before a couple opening season rounds this year pulled me up a bit) Sorry for the shameless plug, but 1) It's just been really cool to actually get the results I was hoping to get when I started this journey; and 2) I know there are a ton of other golfers out there that it could help just like it helped me.

"Do you guys have a GSPro connector for the Right Edge Putt Tracker?" We get this question a lot, and very soon the answer will be "YES!" (Also working on a GSPro connector for integrating full-swing launch monitor AND our Putt Tracker together with GSPro)

"Driving's for show, putting's for dough." With modern analytics, we can tell this might not be as simple/true as we once thought. However, what is still true is, for almost any amateur golfer, putting is your easiest path to lower scores. Easiest path, meaning highest ratio for: Improvement/(Time Money Investment) So why not do it? • One or two putting lessons. • Follow Ross (👇) on X. • Get a Right Edge Putt Tracker to practice/dial-in at home what you learn from the lesson(s) and/or Ross on X. That's it! With those three things, it's almost impossible to not only experience significantly lower scores, but experience them relatively quickly.
It could easily be assumed that a putting coach in 2026 using data, etc would be obsessed with numbers and technique. Genuinely that’s not the case for me or many other putting coaches from what I can gather when they use social media, go on podcasts, etc. One of the best things about putting is you don’t need a “perfect stroke”, whatever that is, to putt well. I like to take golfers from the extremes of say a ton of acceleration, really poor aim and face control. But we never ever need to get it perfect. Having a “good” technique then being highly skilled is the way. My stroke has never looked perfect according to any tech I’ve been on. And I don’t try to get numbers down to zero or whatever. A little work on solid fundamentals then tons of work on the skills of reading greens, lag putting, holing putts is key.

It's becoming abundantly clear that Scottie has been busy lately, and he needs to start using that time between his work calls to roll a few more putts. x.com/GolfChannel/status/203…

Serious question: Is there anyone out there (that's played a minimum of 10 rounds of golf) that doesn't understand and apply this concept? 👇
Tour pros use this clever strategy to save strokes. And you can too. 🎯

5.7 Strokes Gained putting vs 3.8 index!? 😮🤩
Dialing in the new @TaylorMadeGolf putter with my @RightEdgeGolf Putt Tracker, and starting to feel mid-season form. 5.7 Strokes Gained (SG) putting (vs my index) in this session - My best SG number so far (for a session of more than five putts)!

The power of good putting. 👇
Scottie at Bay Hill. 2025: -1.16 SG putting | T11 finish 2024: 1.22 | Win 2023: -0.15 | T4 2022: 1.13 | Win 2020: -1.12 | T15 He's had two negative SG putting tournaments since the Players last year. Good luck to the field.

Same here, Ross! 😎
Trying my best to remove any possible excuses for not practicing your putting 😂
