Sounds interesting!
I wrote an editorial! A lot of us are working on new systems that involve "smart" network interface cards (also known as IPUs or DPUs). It's easy from the outside to see this line of work as another part of the "accelerators for everything" movement

To all the prospective PhDs in/from India, before you sign up for a PhD position in the US, please carefully consider if you would do better (PhDing) in India. I sketched my experience in this blog vihari.github.io/why_india/. Feel free to send me your comments 😃

It's been a while since I wrote a blog. Here is a new one. It includes thoughts on in-network computing. I had to shorten it a bit to make it an easier read. Your reactions, comments, thoughts are welcome. azure.microsoft.com/en-us/bl…

At UW FOCI, we hosted a workshop on application networking. We had a great line up of talks, including @mattklein123 on the origins of Envoy, @tgraf__ on the future of Cilium, and what folks at Google, Uber and Meta are up to. Watch the recordings: foci.uw.edu/event_may-2023_w…

🎉 Self-driving networks need per-packet ML, we make a case for this in our upcoming paper in @ASPLOSConf, **Taurus: A Data Plane Architecture for Per-Packet ML**. It's a joint effort with Kunle Olukotun and a super-star team of students: Tushar Swamy, Alex Rucker, & Ishan Gaur!
