Today, Minister @PrabSarkaria, Minister @douglasdowney, Minister @ToddJMcCarthy and I announced the Fighting Delays and Building Faster Act, 2025! 🏗️ This legislation will cut red tape, streamline approvals, and reduce costs for homebuyers — helping to keep the dream of homeownership alive. In partnership with municipal leaders like @AMOPolicy and industry partners such as @OntarioHBA, @FRPOFACTS and @bildgta, our government is taking bold action to deliver results. Under the leadership of Premier @fordnation, we will continue to build more homes, faster to ensure Ontario families can find a place to call home 🏡

Across Ontario, too many people are struggling to find housing they can afford. Increasing housing supply is key to improving affordability and ensuring more people have a place to call home. It was great to tour a purpose-built rental development in Stratford and see firsthand how innovation is helping get homes built faster. Stubbe’s Precast is using modular and precast construction technologies to reduce costs, shorten construction timelines, and deliver much-needed housing more efficiently. Thank you to @stubbesprecast for helping drive the innovation that is supporting housing construction across our province. #housing #Stratford

Congratulations to Tristan Stover, Produce Department Head, and Dave Smith, Store Manager, at Food Basics in St. Thomas on receiving a Foodland Ontario Retailer Award! Ontario farmers produce some of the best food in the world, and retailers like Food Basics play an important role in connecting consumers with fresh, local products while supporting our agricultural sector. Thank you to Tristan, Dave, and the entire team for championing Ontario-grown food and helping customers choose local every day. #foodlandontario #supportlocal #ontarioagriculture #foodbasics #stthomasproud

With all the food, entertainment, and community spirit, there was something for everyone to enjoy. A big thank you to all the organizers, volunteers, participants, and visitors who help make this annual tradition such a fun and memorable event. It’s always wonderful to see our community come together to celebrate local heritage and enjoy a great day with family and friends. #elgincounty #elginmiddlesexlondon #edisonfest

Our government will upload ownership and maintenance of the Gardiner Expressway and Don Valley Parkway in Fall 2027.   This marks a major milestone in our plan to fight gridlock and keep people and goods moving across the GTA while ensuring these vital highways remain safe, reliable, toll free and in good repair. 🔗: news.ontario.ca/en/release/1…

And just like that, another spring legislative session draws to a close.   This session alone, we had three bills receive Royal Assent: Bill 9, the Municipal Accountability Act, Bill 98, the Building Homes and Improving Transportation Infrastructure Act, and Bill 100, the Better Regional Governance Act — but it does not stop there. In the last 365 days, our total number of bills has climbed to eight, one of the highest numbers our government has ever seen.   Thank you to the Municipal Affairs and Housing team, including Minister @Graydonthempp, and Parliamentary Assistants @Rae_Matt, @laurasthornhill and @BrianSaunderson, for your dedication and hard work. Together, we’re creating the conditions to help build the homes Ontario families need and giving municipalities the tools to strengthen communities and govern with confidence. While there is much to celebrate, there is still more work ahead. I look forward to travelling across the province, listening to people on the ground, and continuing to deliver meaningful change for the people of Ontario. #Housing #QueensPark

Ticket scalpers who rip off Ontario families are on notice. We capped resale prices, and now we’re raising penalties to $25,000 to crack down on price gouging and make it easier for fans to see their favourite band, artist or sports team live. 🔗: news.ontario.ca/en/release/1…

June is seniors month in Ontario — a time to acknowledge and recognize our amazing seniors across this province. This year marks the 60th anniversary of Ontario funding Seniors Active Living Centre (SALC) programs. Originally known as Elderly Persons Centres, Ontario now has over 400 SALC programs that provide activities and services for seniors and older adults in communities across the province. Here in #ElginMiddlesexLondon, our government is investing $215,000 this year to support four local SALC programs. This funding helps ensure seniors have access to the activities, services, and social connections that allow them to live safely, independently, and with a high quality of life. Thank you to the volunteers, staff, and organizations who make these programs possible, and to the seniors across Ontario who continue to enrich our communities every day.  Visit this link to learn more: ontario.ca/page/celebrating-…

Yesterday in #Ottawa, alongside Minister @gregorrobertson, Minister @PBethlenfalvy, Mayor @_MarkSutcliffe and many other municipal and homebuilding partners, we announced the opening of the Development Charge Reduction Program. This federal-provincial program will fund up to $8.8 billion in housing-enabling infrastructure and save Ontarians tens of thousands of dollars on the cost of a new home. 🏡 Together, we’re kickstarting the housing sector and protecting the dream of homeownership. Together, we’re protecting over 100,000 jobs. Together, we are taking action to Protect Ontario. #Housing

As Co-Chair of the Federal-Provincial-Territorial meetings, it’s always a pleasure connecting with my housing counterparts from across the country. This week, I met with Scott Kent, Yukon’s Minister of Education and Minister responsible for the Yukon Housing Corporation.   These conversations are a valuable opportunity to hear about the unique housing challenges and opportunities facing communities across Canada. By working together and learning from one another, we can help move our country forward.   #Housing #Yukon #Ontario #ONpoli

Ontario’s brick, block and stone professionals play an essential role in building strong, lasting communities. Today at Queen’s Park, I was pleased to meet with the @MasonryCouncil of Ontario to discuss the importance of safe, sustainable and high-quality construction, and the role masonry continues to play in Ontario’s housing and building sector.   Thank you to Executive Director Andrew Payne and your team for your leadership and advocacy on behalf of a sector whose craftsmanship and materials continue to shape homes, communities and some of the world’s most enduring architecture.   #MasonryCouncilofOntario #Housing
