BREAKING: Sepp Blater is right about something. And totally right. 🤯
A FIFA World Cup host country must guarantee two fundamental principles: the safety of the country — and the unrestricted entry of all qualified teams, officials and referees. The case of referee Omar Artan from Somalia is against one of these obligations. FIFA must never compromise the universality of football. #Fifa #Somalia #GianniInfantino #CAF #OmarAtan #DonaldTrump

This is quite a photograph. A young David Attenborough with 2 children. The boy is now the King and almost 80. The girl is Princess Anne, a couple of years younger.

Happy 100th Birthday to David Attenborough! 🎉🎂 #Bristol is highly regarded for its BBC Natural History Unit and its long association with David Attenborough’s documentaries. So, with that in mind, here’s a tribute to one national treasure from a local treasure, Morph, complete with camera, safari suit and wildlife. 🦜🥰 #DavidAttenborough @AmazingMorph

"Vote Reform... or else." UK voters don't like bullies.
Today we announce a new policy: In order to deport all illegal migrants in Britain, Reform will need to detain tens of thousands at a time. Migrants will not be able to leave these detention centres, and each will be held there a couple of weeks before being deported. So here’s our promise: A Reform government will not put any migrant detention facilities in any constituency with a Reform MP. Nor will we put them where Reform controls the council. And of the remaining areas, we will prioritise Green controlled parliamentary constituencies and Green controlled councils to locate the detention centres. Put simply, if you vote in a Reform council or Reform MP, we guarantee you won’t have a detention centre near you. If you vote Green, there’s a good chance you will. This is an important exercise in democratic consent, not just for our mass deportation policy, but for where the detention centres are placed. Given @ZackPolanski openly advocates for open borders, I look forward to their warm embrace of this policy. votegreengetillegals.com

Pledging to do nasty things in places that vote for your opponents is the worst form of Trumpification of UK politics. British voters will see through this.

Significant. Lawyers for Reform UK donor Ben Delo say that referring to his criminal conviction is a breach of privacy law, with no "public interest". If highlighting the criminal records of those bankrolling UK political parties is not in the public interest, what is?
Wow. I’ve just received a threatening letter from Ben Delo’s solicitors Addleshaw Goddard. They are claiming, among other things, that it is unlawful to publish information about Delo’s conviction for an anti-money laundering offence in the US. They also say I cannot publish their letter. An extract is below. Is Delo going to get his solicitors to threaten everyone who mentions his conviction? How is this not a SLAPP? @sra_solicitors @DanNeidle

The lead article in #LePoint from #France (“The Great Heist”)is an extensive investigation into the intersection of Trump’s second term and his and family’s private business interests. The report argues that the White House under Trump has shockingly been transformed into a "cash machine" for the #Trump family and their associates. Key themes of the article include: 1. The "Crypto-President": The report examines how the administration’s shift toward pro-crypto policies coincided with the launch of Trump-branded digital assets and "World Liberty Financial," alleging that regulatory decisions are being influenced by the President's personal holdings. 2. Insider Trading Allegations: Le Point investigates "troubling" market fluctuations that occur immediately following the President's social media posts or policy announcements. It suggests that a small circle of "insiders" may be profiting from prior knowledge of these shifts. 3. Real Estate & Private Clubs: The article details how foreign delegations and lobbyists continue to frequent Trump-owned properties (like Mar-a-Lago), creating a system where access to the Commander-in-Chief is effectively a commercial transaction. 4. The "Trumpification" of Washington: Beyond the money, the article describes an "aesthetic of power," where the President’s personal brand—symbolized by the gold coin shown on the cover—is being merged with the official symbols of the American state as the country approaches its 250th anniversary. The tone of the piece is highly critical, framing these actions not just as ethical lapses, but as a systematic "heist" of democratic norms for private gain.

This afternoon, The Queen received Madame Gisèle Pelicot at Clarence House. Mme Pelicot was awarded the Legion of Honour in 2025, following the incredible courage, grace and dignity with which she waived her right to anonymity in France’s largest rape trial. Mme Pelicot’s courage to speak up on behalf of all victims has won her global admiration, and earlier this month, she published a memoir. The Queen has worked to support survivors of sexual and domestic abuse for many decades, and wrote to Mme Pelicot following the trial in 2024.

Troops from European countries are arriving in Greenland to defend the territory from us. Let that sink in. And now Trump is setting tariffs on our allies, making you pay more to try to get territory we don’t need. The damage this President is doing to our reputation and our relationships is growing, making us less safe. If something doesn’t change we will be on our own with adversaries and enemies in every direction. Republicans in Congress need to stand up to Trump.
