The new 30% minimum CGT is perhaps the most obscene part of the proposed Australian budget. It deliberately targets people on low income and is against the spirit of our progressive tax system. It punishes students (young and old), stay at home parents, those temporarily between jobs and people dealing with health challenges who cannot work for a regular wage. I am sick of the government and tax academics gaslighting us on this 30% minimum CGT. Their argument is that people are engaging in some kind of "tax avoidance" by accumulating assets through their lives, deferring those gains and selling near retirement when their marginal tax rate is much lower. This is a spectacularly stupid argument. People sell assets later in life not because they are engaging in some kind of elaborate tax dodge. Most of the time it's because that's when they need the money. This is basically just how long-term savings works. Similarly, if someone starts a small business and then sells it later in life to fund their living expenses, they are not engaging in tax avoidance. They were just deferring consumption. This stuff should be obvious.

L.A. mail-in ballot signature verification is done by a machine that can be altered to let mismatched signatures pass, just like in the Arizona 2020 election, when election workers testified that they were told to ignore the flashing warnings on computers alerting that the signatures on ballots did NOT match. The homeless in L.A. stated that they were using other people's names, and addresses, and filling out 3 to 5 fraudulent ballots a day, and ballot mules would come at least 3x a week to pay them to fill out ballots. The signatures obviously didn't match because the homeless were using other people's information. Turning down the accuracy for signature verification is EXACTLY how they pass the fake signatures through the machines, if they really even check signatures on the fraudulent ballots at all.

As a Muslim, there's something that genuinely bothers me. Millions of Muslims live in Christian majority countries, build mosques, preach Islam publicly, distribute Qur'ans, open halal businesses, and demand religious freedom,and rightly so. Some even call for aspects of Shariah to be accommodated in the societies they've moved to. Yet in some Muslim majority countries, Christians cannot openly preach the Gospel, build churches freely, or practice their faith without restrictions. Why? If we demand religious freedom for ourselves, we should be willing to grant it to others. Truth does not need censorship. If Islam is the truth, it has nothing to fear from a church, a Bible, or a Christian preacher. You can't demand tolerance and freedom for Muslims abroad while denying the same freedoms to others at home. The double standard needs to be called out.
