#nowplaying Manfred Mann - Go Up The Junction (soundtrack) I do like the Mike D’Abo fronted era of Mann, and it’s a decent little album, albeit lacking in big hit singles other than the title track. If you like breezy 60s pop, then you should give this a listen.

If England had been held to a goalless draw with Cape Verde, the English fans & media would be talking absolute bollards, demanding the heads of the team, manager & probably the Prime Minister & King. This is football, things happen regardless of your rep Well done Cape Verde!

#nowplaying The Alan Parsons Project - Ammonia Avenue For some reason I don’t play the post Eye In The Sky LPs as much as the ones before, always feeling they were a bit 50/50 quality wise, but this revisit has maybe reminded me what a lovely LP it is. Some great songs within

#NowPlaying Anthony Phillips - 1984 Keyboards, instrumental album, drum box, this certainly irked a few die-hard Genesis acolytes who were used to the ex-guitarist’s pastoral 12 string melodies. I for one adore this album, as much as the previous three LPs

#NowPlaying Tangerine Dream - Alpha Centauri (1971) I’m finding this second album by TD less aimless and noodlesome than later works, which often have a ‘money for old rope’ type vibe. Not so much an earworm, more a rectal examination.

#nowplaying The Pipettes - We Are The Pipettes Lovely jaunty pop album reminiscent of early sixties girl groups with a modern bent. The follow up album, ‘Earth Vs The Pipettes’ is absolute dog sh*t, however, and should be avoided.

#NowPlaying Yes - Ten Summers Long That October 78 gig from Empire Pool Wembley that the Beeb used to keep playing. Even the Tormato tunes sound good.

#nowplaying Emerson Lake & Palmer - The Atlantic Years I recall some sort of fanfare when it was released, maybe it was digitally remastered or whatnot, or one of the first ELP collections on CD. Certainly a decent chronological jaunt through the band’s catalogue.
