We sat down with @robinsonburkey (CCO @WormholeFdn) at Breakpoint to talk about the thing nobody wants to deal with: stablecoin fragmentation. USDT on Solana, USDT on Ethereum, USDT on Tron. Same dollar, different chains, completely separate balances. "If you opened your mobile banking app, it'd be like having 34 accounts for USD. It'd be wild." That's the problem @wormhole was built to solve. And two years in, the numbers back it up: Wormhole now facilitates 30-40% of all USDC transfers through Circle's CCTP, with stablecoins making up roughly half of all volume moving through the protocol.
