My favourite moment of the 2019 World Matchplay. How *does* Mar-dell do it??! 😀

Don’t worry Dale they’ll soon be checking even more. The VAR weed will grow all over the garden. Then they’ll hack it back. Rinse and repeat until the majority of football’s OGs have stopped watching.
Number of wrongly awarded goal-kicks in this World Cup: 15 (this is not accurate) Number of wrongly awarded corners: 0

Sports themed entertainment….

Sir John knows vastly more about polling than I do but I can assure him that the favourite in a 2 horse race *will* be odds on and not a 2-1 chance. In this case the favourite is 1-3.

World Cup Memories🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿⚽️: "You worry Rob you worry - but don't make the fucking rest of us worry, go worry on your own". Late England Manager Graham Taylor roast sports journalist Rob Shepherd during the ill-fated 1994 World Cup qualifying campaign. A time when the game was full of characters and not the overpaid diva's and soy boys we have festooned throughout football today..

People seem confused. The issue here as it was with Mike Bassett UK Prime Minister is being in charge of making the rules and then promptly breaking them…
Michael Vaughan backs Ben Stokes to keep his role as Test captain. 🗣️ Stokes was involved in a nightclub incident early Monday morning after England's win over New Zealand. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

As I’ve said coaches could make a gentleman’s agreement not to use it or call a EGM and clubs could vote to abolish it. Same goes for video refereeing. In the Premier League only Wolves voted to abolish the use of VAR.
I've seen Wakefield, Warrington and Hull KR criticise captain's challenge this week. Is it time coaches and players put up or shut up? Don't like captain's challenge? Refuse to use it. Under any circumstances. If you feel that strongly, take a stand.

Betting as a source of fun, or as a semi-serious vocation, is being destroyed in front of our eyes but they want to police work sweepstakes. It’s got to be a wind up?

This is what happened the last time a video ref rushed a decision without checking all relevant angles. This is frequently what would happen with timed video ref decisions.
Scott Taylor is a fan of the Captain's Challenge - but has suggested a shot clock to speed it up!

This is what will happen with captain's challenge: 🔸️ We complain it takes too long 🔸️ A 1 minute time limit on decisions will be set 🔸️ A key decision will be shown to be incorrect by a camera angle not located quickly enough 🔸️ We will go back to the current system
📺 Daryl Powell says Super League needs to remove captain's challenge immediately - calling the concept a 'waste of time'.

It’s arrant nonsense to shout schnell schnell at the Video Ref. If you wanted a VR you’ve signed up for forensic analysis in pursuit of a higher %age of correct decisions. Why then reduce the chance of that outcome by demanding quick decisions? You either want a VR or you don’t
Nearly 2 minutes to get this decision when its quite obvious to absolutely everyone with eyes that Percival knocks that ball on in the very first replay. Feels like the video refs take their time just so they have something to do.

It’s interesting to note after last night’s Question Time the betting markets now give Andy Burnham almost 80 % chance of winning the Makerfield by election. @SenseiChanning
