Range of emotions this morning while at AWP. Crying tears in the inside at the moment. Loss for words at the moment with the sacrifices, late nites, heartbreaks, rejections, silence, and imposter syndrome I’ve battled with craft over time.

I’m still processing a range of emotions . The first thing I applied for on Submittable in 2014 was Cave Canem. My friends and I applied every year, nurturing one another, sharing poems, and giving flowers. My this amazing journey. I love poetry. I love Black poets. Sigh..🖤🫶🏾🖤

It was a blessing to come back as an alum and witness this wondrous community at Randolph. I would argue perhaps one of the best MFA low res programs out there. One that listens and takes chances. One that is diverse, humorous, rigorous, and so brilliant. Randolph is home. 🖤💛
