Things I wish I knew when I was much younger:
1. JUST START
Whatever you want to do, just start.
The perfect time isn’t coming.
The perfect plan isn’t coming.
Confidence doesn’t come before action—it comes from action.
Start the habit.
Start the conversation.
Start learning the skill.
You’ll figure out far more by doing than by thinking.
2. SAVE AGGRESSIVELY
Even when you don’t have a reason to save, save.
One day an opportunity will show up.
One day an emergency will show up.
You don’t get to choose which comes first.
Money gives you options.
Options give you freedom.
3. PEOPLE ARE MORE COMPLICATED THAN THEY LOOK
Everybody is fighting battles you can’t see.
The confident person has insecurities.
The successful person has problems.
The happy person has bad days.
Never assume you know someone’s full story from what they choose to show you.
4. BE A GIVER, BUT HAVE LIMITS
People say, “Givers never lack.”
That’s not always true.
If you give everything away, eventually you’ll have nothing left for yourself.
Help people.
Be generous.
Be kind.
But learn where to stop.
5. YOUR FEELINGS AREN’T ALWAYS TELLING YOU THE TRUTH
You’ll feel scared before opportunities.
You’ll feel unqualified before growth.
You’ll feel lost before progress.
Don’t treat every feeling as a fact.
Sometimes the right decision feels uncomfortable.
6. NOBODY IS COMING TO SAVE YOU
Not your friends.
Not your family.
Not the government.
The moment you accept responsibility for your life, things start changing.
It’s a heavy realization.
It’s also a very freeing one.
