Lesser Kestrel video by Peter Walsh 32 second video of the adult male Lesser Kestrel at Croft Pascoe, Lizard, in early May. This was just the second record for Cornwall. The first was way back in 1968.

What a stunning find by John Foster. Cornwallโ€™s 2nd Lesser Kestrel found at Croft Pascoe Downs, Lizard (1st May 2026). The first was way back in May 1968 so this adult male has been long overdue.

Montage pics of some raptors seen this Spring in Cornwall. The Red-footโ€™s appear to have moved on now. They certainly provided some great entertainment and stunning views. Fave has to be the sec cal female at Predannack. (Goshawk was in Somerset).

Good luck in your โ€œretirement โ€œ Ben. Hereโ€™s a flashback to the week you were signed for Truro City. I remember sitting at the bar doing the interview. Maybe see you at @Mouseholeafc one day.

The 1w Booted Eagle performed well in front of a few us this morning from the A394 roadbridge (over the railway line) at Marazion this morning. Even perching in front of us. Itโ€™s Cornwallโ€™s third record and the same as the bird seen back in Oct 10th and 11th at St Just.

Great pic Bob. Todayโ€™s Booted Eagle sighting at Marazion is considered the same bird as found by M Scott-Ham in Oct 24 at St Just and following day at Kenidjack. Todayโ€™s bird on left and St Just bird on right. Four months apart but little difference in detail. Comments welcome.
Back of camera shot of the Booted Eagle at Marazion . Very lucky that it stayed long enough for me to finish working and drive down !

Some comparison pics of the Sandy Cove, Cornwall Humeโ€™s Warbler and Yellow-browed Warbler, both present together. Also reported on Sunday 15th for third day. First two pics show YBW on lower side. All others are the Humeโ€™s. This is the second for 2024 and 7th for Cornwall. A sonogram comparison was also taken and is shown below. (Raoul Humphries).

Absolutely delighted to find this Humeโ€™s Warbler at Sandy Cove, Newlyn, Cornwall. Also good to get a side by side comparison with a Yellow-browed Warbler with a few meters of each other. Both calling. Paul Freestone and Raoul Humphries have call sonograms as well. Thereโ€™s less than ten records for Cornwall. Thanks also to Pete Clement and Bob Bosisto for assistance and confirmation. #cornwallbirding ##ukbirding

Coryโ€™s Shearwater was just the third Cornwall record for December and second latest. It was only time before one was found this winter.

Dedication. Were there large numbers of auks, kitttiwakes etc Steve?

The Mousehole AFC 5-0 win over Didcot Town on Sat 30th takes us up two places, now within touching distance of the play-offs. Man of the Match goes to Tallan Mitchell. What a game he had: 2 goals and 2 assists. Our own Andy Graham (coach) was also a Diddyman in his day so met up with old acquaintances. @Mousehole AFC Pic by Benji and graphics by Jasmyn Richardson.
