There’s a fundamental flaw in algorithmic social media feeds
My purpose as an artist is to challenge you as a listener, offer you something with a uniqueness and self-representing character. I’m meant to carve out a niche in the electronic space
Instead, we’ve all been goaded into generating mass-appealing ideas that have proven to work before.
Labels, blogs, collectives, etc used to serve as tastemakers that would promote these new ideas and keep things fresh, or they would die. The way it works now rewards taking zero risks musically
It is more important than ever to have a consistent, focused idea to present your project. Grow your niche from nothing, and develop something unique. It’s Something I’ve never really focused on in 20 years of doing music, but it is certainly the focus now!
