Journal Sq to Liberty State Park 200 cars & 4 buses, stuck in traffic 200 drivers could fit on 4 buses This is a failed transportation system. Bus and bike lanes have 5-10x more capacity & 5-10x less emissions, noise, pollution, violence, and cost (citations follow 🧵👇)

Today’s decision by @USDOT to allow New York’s congestion pricing plan to move forward is unfair and ill-advised. I support congestion pricing conceptually, but it must be fair to all sides. Placing an unjustified financial burden on hardworking New Jersey commuters is wrong.

That slip-left onto 5th could maybe be squared up? It's a long treacherous crosswalk across 5th. Extending the PBL will help as well… Just wanted to mention, hope the improvements can continue down there 🙏 cc @mjmanzella225

Street parking in JC is >99% subsidized: - avg market rate: $3,000 / year - residential permit: $20 / year 60,000 on-street spaces = $200MM/yr subsidy of car ownership. This is terrible policy / socializes costs of car ownership (Source: JC Parking Plan jerseycitynj.gov/residentres…)
