I wrote this the other day because I feel exactly like the man in this video. I first named it “Solitude”, but might change it to “Nature’s Silence”. Not sure yet. Loneliness does not exist, Neither does a dark abyss. Peace fills the heart and soul, The Source will always keep it full. In nature this is felt the most, God’s design from coast to coast. Majestic mountains steal our wind, As prairies reveal the Source within. Our soul is connected to all that’s around, Invisibly tethered ~ no web to be found. And yet it exists, although can’t be seen, In silence it’s felt and there’s no denying. 💚
This is why some people like being alone…

Annabel and I managed to get in six miles of hiking after getting the camper all set up this afternoon. (I even got a little litter & glass off the trails 😕). We came back and ate, she’s crashed out on the bed right now, but we’re going to go back outside for a bit pretty soon & check out the stars. It’s been such a peaceful evening. Tomorrow I plan on getting a lot more miles in when we hike. I hope everyone has a wonderful night. 🫶🏻

I absolutely love this, he looks like such a sweet man. 🥹 Please take a minute to look at Steve’s art. It’s amazing. He’s definitely a nature lover. God Bless him. 🙏❤️
I want to introduce you to Steve. He’s 83. His wife died a few months ago and he comes to this lodge in Spring Mill, Indiana and draws. He taught art in Terre Haute, IN his whole life. He also did courtroom sketches in court cases. In the comments I’ll share some pics from his sketchbook. He was excited when I said I was going to share his sketches with the world.

Good morning! It’s camping day! Yay! 🥳 Lots to still get done before Annabel & I can check in the camper at 3pm. 🕒 Hopefully the weather stays nice as it says it will be. 🤞 It seems to change every few hours on my weather app anymore. I hope everyone has a blessed day! ❤️

I love this photo. I really never understood why people hate dandelions so much. I think that they are beautiful from beginning to end. 💚 Not to mention that they have lots of health benefits & nutrients, plus they’re one of the first food sources for bumblebee queens emerging in the Spring, among other things. Folks, we’ve been psyoped about dandelions by corporations who want us to use their cancer causing “weed” killers in our yards. 🤬 The chemicals also harm pollinators. 👎😢🐝
The kind of detail you only notice when you slow down. ✨🌿

My Prairie Coneflowers are starting to fill in. It’s amazing how fast everything grows once the season gets going.

Do you think this Red Milkweed Beetle thinks that I can’t see him? 😆 It looks like it’s peeking around the leaf.💚🥰

I can’t wait for these little buggers. 😍 My milkweed is blooming like crazy, but the monarch butterflies have just started arriving in the last week or so. The bees, however, are loving the flowers. 🐝💚🐛
I found a monarch caterpillar! 😍🐛 The milkweed here is just about ready to bloom, and when it does, the butterflies are going to have an absolute hayday!! 🦋🌸

I decided that since I have horrible luck with bell peppers, I am growing a couple mini bell and snack able pepper plants this year. I have seeds for regular bell peppers, 🫑 but at this point, I will stick with the little peppers. Mine never get any bigger than mini ones anyways. 😂

Hmmm, I guess the squirrels want corn with one of my wildflower patches this year. 😂

I just booked a few nights camping for Annabel and I. We’re going to bring the camper to a State Park on Sunday. I can’t wait for some nature, hiking and relaxation. 🤗

I was going through some old photos and found one of Annabel from when she was about 9 weeks old. I only had her about a week at that point. 🥰 She slept with her eyes part open for the first year of her life, it was a bit creepy to say the least. 😆

We have bad storms coming through the rest of the afternoon and into the evening, but I did manage to get a couple pictures of some bumblebees on my milkweed after I got back from my walk with Annabel, right before the rain. 🐝💚🐝 If you look closely at the last picture, the bee has its proboscis still sticking out with nectar on the end. It rubbed its front legs on it several times before resuming its foraging. 😍

Annabel and I have still been doing our litter walks, but I just haven’t been posting them as much. We walked a couple miles yesterday in between the rain. Saw a couple little bumblebees trying to get pollen before it rained some more and of course, Annabel sniffed out a rabbit under the bushes like she always does. 😂 At least she doesn’t pull my arm anymore when they run, she just watches them. We went from a severe drought to rain and thunderstorms almost every day. I’m not going to complain though, we really needed it, but the humidity can go away. 😆

I remember those! We grew up in one of the best times! ❤️ I also remember the “Board of Education” and I don’t mean a bunch of people sitting around solving nothing. 😂 I’m talking about the wooden board with the holes (to stop any wind resistance) that the teacher would smack any child in the butt with when we were talking or disrupting the class & it was always “get up here now and bend over” 😂. I never got it myself. Just seeing the other kids misbehaving and getting smacked by it in front of the whole classroom was enough for me to sit still and listen, plus, I just loved school. Ah, the good old days. Gen X had the last good childhood. Freedom to roam the streets with no way to get ahold of us after school and teachers who took no crap 😂.
Kids have safety scissors now. But back in the day, we were totally allowed to use the classroom guillotine at 10 years old.
