.@LindseyBoylan announces she will not run in June's Democratic primary for the 3rd City Council District after losing last month's special election to Carl Wilson. Boylan's defeat was seen as a blow to Mamdani, who endorsed her ahead of the special: politico.com/news/2026/04/28

So proud of these folks and The Chronicle, hands down one of the nation's best dailies.
The Chronicle was honored for revealing how companies drastically underpay wildfire survivors. Gabrielle Lurie and an investigation of for-profit psychiatric hospitals were named finalists. sfchronicle.com/about/newsro

Next NYC PAC, which funneled money into the District 3 race, reported a few new donors today, two of whom— Karen Kasner and Alice Tisch — were Cuomo donors. (Eisenberg, cofounder of A&E Real Estate, wasn't, but her husband Doug was)
NEW: a super PAC that's dumped $ against @LindseyBoylan's Council bid has raised money from former Andrew Cuomo supporters, including his chief fundraiser—but conceals their names w/ a pass-through setup. The PAC's treasurer is a sitting BOE commissioner. nysfocus.com/2026/04/27/cuom

Terrific job by @RyanKost & @Gothamist on the special City Council election tomorrow in district 3. Was happy to share some of my personal archives from 1989 (Tom Duane’s 1st run), and some recollections from Tom’s big win in 1991. @tkduane

The always fiery Allan Roskoff on a Council race to watch⁩: “Lindsey, I love and respect you,” he recalled telling her, “but in this particular instance, it’s a gay seat. I have fought for it to be a gay seat since the '80s and '90s.” gothamist.com/news/mamdani-p
