We take for granted that larger models are better than smaller ones, but why is this so? Our new paper, led by Jing Huang and @EkdeepL, traces this to a data-induced competition for resources (neurons), using formal analysis, idealized tasks, and real pretraining.

My dad is a disabled Vietnam veteran. My wife and I are his caregivers now—we handle pretty much everything.
But driving? Not anymore thanks to our Tesla Cybertruck.
Twice a week, his VA day-activity program gives him amazing time with folks his age — games, stories, independence. And every trip (20 min each way), my truck TARS handles it all.
Sure, I’m in the driver’s seat, but really just along to visit with him: coffee, conversation, music.
The truck does all of the work.
It manages the backroads, highway, merging, traffic, school zones, parking… everything.
I get quality time with my dad.
He loves it.
And every time we pull up, he says the same thing:
“Good job, truck.” ❤️📐
We hop out and I easily unload his heavy specialized walker — it fits perfectly in the rear bed under the tonneau cover.
Grateful for this technology that helps our heroes and their families.
