If civilization drops below the tech level needed for interplanetary spaceflight before making life multiplanetary, that could be the end of consciousness

Kevin O’Leary is straight-up peddling corporate spin. His take on “modern” data centers with closed-loop cooling and “minimal water” ignores the explosive reality of AI-driven demand. Efficiency per rack improves, but total consumption is skyrocketing.

We don’t beat the CCP authoritarian nightmare by copying it. America’s edge has always been freedom, creativity, and a society people actually want to live in—not just survive in. There are many wonderful Nations that prove you can have real cultural depth and work-life balance without subordinating everything to tech supremacy. Forcing a post-human grind “to beat China” is how we hand them the real victory. We get to choose what kind of future is worth winning. We don’t need to be in a Tech Supremacy race at all.

Kevin O’Leary, You personally are staring at screens 10 hrs per day, do you see anything wrong with this? The average American stares at screens for 7–12 hours per day, a figure that continues to rise. “Leaders” and Technocrats should be discussing how to REDUCE screen time. The bulk of data center storage is devoted to VIDEO, streaming, and AI-generated slop. Thanks to everyone’s pocket computers—and now glasses—individuals have become mini production crews, or more aptly, simulation entities. Massive data centers do nothing to reduce screen time; they only amplify it. Consider this 1956 IBM data center shipment: a 5MB hard drive weighing over a ton. It would not store even a single photograph from a modern pocket computer. Data centers will SHRINK! Then we will need MORE data centers. How do we want to evolve?

I think there is a good chance we’re in a simulation, not that we’re definitely in one

A single bird has completed a journey covering nearly one-third of Earth’s circumference, without stopping to eat, drink, or rest. A five-month-old Bar-tailed Godwit, set a new record for the longest nonstop flight ever documented in a bird. It traveled from Alaska to Tasmania, Australia, covering about 8,425 miles in just over 11 days. This remarkable migration took place entirely over the Pacific Ocean, with no opportunity to land. What makes the achievement even more striking is that it was the bird’s first migration, yet it navigated thousands of miles of open ocean with extraordinary accuracy. The journey is made possible by extreme physiological adaptation. Before departure, the bird builds up large fat reserves, nearly half its body weight, to serve as fuel. At the same time, some internal organs, including parts of the digestive system, temporarily shrink to reduce weight and conserve energy. Unlike seabirds that rely heavily on gliding, this young godwit maintained continuous flapping flight for the entire trip, enduring changing winds and weather conditions along the way. Researchers at the Pūkōroro Auckland Shorebird Centre say findings like this are reshaping our understanding of what migratory birds can achieve. Their endurance, navigation, and energy efficiency highlight biological capabilities that rival even advanced human engineering.

If you buy Bitcoin at $126,000 and it goes to $68,000 you can sell it and buy it back 6 seconds later you still have the same one Bitcoin But you can realize a capital loss of $58,000 for tax purposes

SpaceX is now providing precise positional awareness of objects in Earth orbit to all satellite operators for free. This will greatly reduce the probability of collisions that create orbital debris (space junk) hazards.
SpaceX has developed a novel Space Situational Awareness (SSA) system, called Stargaze → starlink.com/stargaze To maximize safety for all satellites in space, @SpaceX will be making Stargaze conjunction data available to all operators, free of charge. By providing this ephemeris sharing and conjunction screening service free of charge, we hope to motivate operators to take similar steps towards ephemeris sharing and safe flight.

The data centers and AI giants are making billions as they drain the power grid dry and get indirect consumer subsidies in the form of 100% bill increases. It's time they allocate some of trillions in circle jerk funds to lowering electricity costs for everyone else
