For training to have an impact individuals have to: (1) want to be there (2) believe there are things they don’t know (3) be receptive to learning new information even if it challenges core beliefs. The ppl who need it most generally don’t meet these criteria.

Why is a man who clearly has pathologies related to women still allowed to be a police officer? Risk behaviours associated with women should be an absolute disqualifier in policing, not a slap on the wrist. ottawacitizen.com/news/ottaw…

This all started last year when NS Premier Tim Houston adopted legislation declaring intimate partner violence an epidemic. In BC, we have been clear that we don’t want or need performative declarations - every jurisdiction in Canada that has performed a GBV or IPV as epidemic declaration has then done little to nothing to actually address the issue - beyond the declaration. #DesignedWithSurvivors
This is the oldest trick in politics - kicking a problem down the road by ‘striking a committee’. @nsgov to establish a 25-member advisory committee on gender-based violence #IPV #MVAW #CallItFemicide #nspoli thecanadianpressnews.ca/atla…

In Canada, right now, efforts to respond effectively to lethal IPV does require the femicide framing and designation - these are aggrevating characteristics that need to be separated. Other countries do it why can’t Canada #CallItFemicide? #DesignedWithSurvivors
In #Canada, tories urge support for #femicide legislation, but they don't actually #CallItFemicide. The proposed legislation remains #gender neutral which, in the past, has worked against women, not helped them. pentictonherald.ca/news/nati… via @pentictonherald

men are 100% more emotional than women, society just likes to pretend that anger and impatience aren’t emotions

I sense ‘burying the lede’ here. This looks like the real story may be male violence against women to me. NJ teen’s alleged hit-and-run killings possibly ‘vengeance’ for victim mocking Charlie Kirk | Read full article at san.com/cc/nj-teens-alleged-…
