Today we had the Digital Leaders from Preston Primary School onsite here at @sdcollege , where they had the opportunity to learn about film and green screening, MicroBits, programming to light LED's, Radio wave communications, with an added bonus of testing out our drones!

Last week we hosted the annual #Girls in #STEM day here at @sdcollege, where 5 local schools teamed up with 5 STEM based employers to take part in a STEM challenge, that was presented to a board of judges! Thank you to the employers and judges that supported the day. @INWED1919

Last week we held our annual Girls in Maritime day at our @sdcollege Marine Academy site on Dart Marina. Local schools attended to take part in marine based activities, alongside a fab guest talk from Claire Robson at the Royal Navy. Thanks to all who attended⛵️ @stevecaunter1

On Friday, we hosted a STEM day for the Digital Leaders at Preston Primary School. They got hands on with some Photonics & Microelectronics, Computing "Technician for the day" session and had fun in our ESports suite, as well as a Tour of the Hi Tech & Digital Centre! @sdcollege

Today, our @sdcollege ESports F1 Racing team had the exciting opportunity to visit Williams Racing, in Oxford. Here they will take part in the final Formula 1 Race of the season! They also took part in a careers, ESports & STEM discussion. Have a brilliant time! @stevecaunter1

Last week at @sdcollege we hosted a STEAM Careers Day for local schools which consisted of a carousel of STEAM based activities including Robotics, Photonics, Deciphering, Digital Design and a Measuring/Testing activity hosted by local business Technical Composite Systems!
