EOWC Chair Bonnie Clark, Vice-Chair Nathan Townend, and Executive Director Meredith Staveley-Watson were in Edmonton, Alberta, representing eastern Ontario’s 103 small-urban and rural municipalities at the
@FCM_online Annual Conference.
Bringing together more than 1,500 elected officials from across Canada, the conference provides an important opportunity to exchange ideas, share best practices, and collaborate on solutions that strengthen communities from coast to coast.
Brenda Orchard, EOWC CAO for the
@Lenn_Add_County and outgoing President of the
@camalink, took part in the panel “Leading Our Way Out of Incivility: Tools and Advice for Effective Local Governance.” Drawing on real-world experiences from both administrative leaders and elected officials, the session explored practical strategies to foster respectful relationships, strengthen governance, navigate challenging situations, and build healthier organizational cultures.
Thank you to incoming FCM President
@TimTierney and outgoing FCM President
@rebeccaleebligh for hosting an outstanding conference.
The EOWC looks forward to continuing its work with municipal, provincial, and federal partners to advance shared priorities and support strong, resilient, and thriving small-urban and rural communities across eastern Ontario.
