This cardiac MRI shows a left atrium with a volume of ~2.2 liters.
For comparison:
🟢 Normal LA volume ≈ 22–58 mL
🔴 This LA ≈ 2200 mL
That's roughly 40–100× larger than normal.
A normal left atrium holds only a few tablespoons of blood. This one holds nearly the volume of a large soft drink bottle. x.com/HeartToProve/status/14…
Tough one on call - tried to avoid intervention and hope for steroids to help improve inflammation but patient crashed… selective embolization performed to try and maintain hepatic arterial supply - although with patent PV would it matter?
What would you do?

Worth a read & Nice demonstration! Also when performing CARTO/ PARTO, I try to land the coil above the constricted portion of splenorenal vein. Wonder if the infection adrenal vein is at or below the constricted portion.
One of the best parts of #iRad is the ability to relieve chronic #backpain, post operative #pain, and #cancer related pain using image guided procedures. Here are a few examples: selective nerve root block, hypogastric plexus block, ilioinguinal block, pudendal block. #radres
Large 7.3 cm descending thoracic aortic aneurysm discovered incidentally >60 years after childhood coarctation repair in an asymptomatic 62yo woman. Successful single-stage hybrid repair: carotid-carotid bypass TEVAR with complete exclusion & no complications.
Lifelong surveillance after CoA repair is essential, even decades later.
