Every June, a giant pink triangle goes up on Twin Peaks, big enough to see from across the city.
The Nazis made gay men wear the pink triangle in concentration camps. Generations later, we took a badge of persecution and turned it into a symbol of defiance.
Standing up there today as a gay, Jewish man, I felt the full weight of that history, and the responsibility that comes with it. The forces that tried to erase us never disappeared. They're loud again right now, and they're coming for trans kids, for our families, for our history. But we won't let them erase us.
The forces coming for our community are organized and well-funded, and they're counting on us to back down. But we won't. I won't. I've been fighting for our community my entire life, and I'll keep going to the mat for us when I get to Congress.
