My JUCO coach used to say “When you’re struggling at the plate, keep your hands up and work down. 99.9% of the time you’re missing under”

Most camps teach drills.
Trosky Elite Infield Camps teach infield mastery.
Its more than fast feet and hype videos, Nate Trosky teaches the intricate details of elite infield play developed through more than 30 years of studying, coaching, and training the game’s best defenders.
Every movement has a purpose.
Every rep has a standard.
Every detail matters.
This is specialized training for players who want to separate themselves through skill, awareness, and a deeper understanding of the position.
If you’re serious about becoming an elite infielder, find a Trosky Elite Infield Camp near you.

🚨 UT - 4 Base Drill
Emphasis on:
• Working on footwork
• Throwing from different slots
• Accuracy under pressure
⭐️ Great example of making your practice harder faster than the game!
Every practice activity for youth should end with a competition. It just keeps em focused!
Here are my 3 favorite games to do at the end of your catch play routine.
Most kids default to stepping with the wrong foot at 1st base. They also stretch too early and have a difficult time adjusting to offline throws.
The BEST time to work on this as a group is during catch play. There are no rules stating that you cannot work on catching movements when working on throwing!
Show up and do the work, over and over again.
No shortcuts. No spotlight needed. Just a standard of effort that doesn’t waver.
Working through a variety of reach backhand plays off the left foot, learning timing, replacing the feet, and finishing plays with intent.

It’s not about being seen.. it’s about showing up, putting in the reps, and embracing the process day after day. The details, the effort, the consistency… that’s where growth lives.
Fall in love with the work, and everything else takes care of itself.

Self toss feeds working double play exchanges from the shortstop position.
The focus here is body positioning around the ball and learning how to work to the short hop instead of letting it play you. When you can control your feet and posture around the hop, you give yourself a chance to finish the play every time.
First bounce short hop & second used here.

Your development is your responsibility. The daily work, the attention to detail, the commitment to getting better.. that’s what fills the bucket. Coaches can guide it and teammates can support it, but the work has to come from you.
Small space training? No problem!

Three different plays moving right of center off the second-bounce short hop:
• Rake through backhand
• One handed come & get
• On the run backhand
Training the eyes to track the hop and the feet to move with intent so we can finish plays consistently. Reps with purpose.
