In this work, we (@smlerch) synthesised nanoparticles of different size and shape, and assembled individual particles in individual nanochannels to study their catalytic activity.

This week’s baking was mini lemon meringue pies! Other than some minor sticking to the pan, these turned out absolutely perfectly. I am quite pleased ☺️ The meringue was a little fluffier immediately after baking but no weeping meringue is a huge success! #baking#lemonmeringue
This week’s baking challenge was Pastéis de Nata, a Portuguese egg custard tart. ☺️ Now waiting to see if my Portuguese friends at work enjoy them!

I’m a little disappointed in these. The orange flavor strongly overpowers the rhubarb and the choux pastry is not quite right yet 😅

This week’s baking was a bit of a failure. I tried to make a lemon raspberry cake but the the cake both spilled out of the pan and stuck badly, so I turned it into lemon raspberry cake balls. Also included: pictures from last week, a much more successful chocolate almond cake.
This weekend I made chocolate chip cookies...with a 285% yield compared to the recipe! It was supposed to make 20 cookies but we ended up with 57 baked cookies (plus some raw cookie dough) #baking#chocolatechipcookies
This weekend, I wanted both brownies and pastry cream, and so I made a pastry cream pie with a brownie crust, topped with raspberries! #baking#somuchsugar
This weekend was my wonderful husband’s birthday so we celebrated with a selection of mini pies (cherry, rhubarb custard, pecan and chocolate cream). We also had orange-cinnamon French toast casserole for brunch and a lovely steak dinner. Happy Birthday @foundtendollars
