Great to see the focus on sport & the arts from @bphillipsonMP . So important these opportunities reach our most vulnerable learners who often face the greatest barriers to participation. Some great practice bubbling away @theedenacademy & across the @YouthSportTrust network
I defied the odds. Now as Education Secretary, it’s my job to change them. That means opening up opportunity, to harness the talents of all our children. With Labour, education is back at the heart of national life once again. express.co.uk/news/politics/…

Imagine being 40 and being sent to bed at 5pm - or being 50 or 60 and not allowed in your kitchen in the evening to get yourself a drink That's the reality for many middle aged learning-disabled people as researchers from Manchester Metropolitan University discovered

Great to meet with @bphillipsonMP on Friday to talk all things inclusion & the specialist sector @theedenacademy #SHOUTaboutSEND #EdenPeople
Talking SEND reform with school leaders from the specialist sector. We've inherited a 'lose, lose, lose' system in the Tories' own words but I'm determined to grip the issue. We've taken crucial first steps but there's still a long way to go to restore parents’ trust.

Be sure to check out the brilliant work of IMAS & the mixed ability sport movement - inclusion in its purest form. Thanks for shining a light on this #PowerOfSport #SHOUTaboutSEND
Good to meet with @DCMS Sport Minister @Steph_Peacock today to talk about school PE & sport and breaking down the barriers to opportunity for all children & young people. Sport helped me succeed at school. Every child should have the chance to find a sport they enjoy & thrive.
