Today we celebrate America’s farmers, ranchers and foresters who protect our soil, water and air, and safeguard our planet for future generations!

April showers don't go to waste! Tailwater recovery ponds allow us to capture and reuse storm water (and irrigation) runoff which decreases our groundwater pumping for crop irrigation. This is just another way we actively try to #conserve#water on our farm each year. #SoyOnWater
Precision ag helps us make better and more timely decisions by providing us providing a constant stream of data in present time. Long gone are the days where you wait until the end of the year to determine each field’s productivity. #Harvest21#combine#JohnDeereOperations
Our #combines must separate the grain from the rest of the plant without any damage to the kernel. Through machine learning, the #combine is able to detect the condition of the crop and automatically adjust the combine settings to maintain grain quality. #JohnDeere#Harvest21
Willard Jack, family patriarch for Silent Shade Planting Co., Belzoni, MS, details what his family is seeing yield-wise on their 12K operation: up to 190 bu. rice, 230 bu. corn (under irrigation) and expecting 75 bu. soybeans. Great growing conditions! #FJFieldDays#agriculture
The Tokyo Olympics Organizing Committee's Sustainable Sourcing Code is designed to advance #sustainability throughout the Games’ supply chains. We're honored that the U.S. Soy Sustainability Assurance Protocol (SSAP) was recognized as compliant. Read more: ow.ly/kWjs50FE0UY
It wasn’t long ago that entire fields were planted, treated and harvested in the exact same way, despite conditions that can vary. However, today, new ag technology allows us to manage at a plant by plant level based on its unique conditions and needs. #change#agriculture
We are super excited to have a Farm Journal Field Day at our farm in August! The Mississippi delta is unique. We look forward to showing our crop variety, the humidity, bugs, weeds, beautiful sunsets and delicious food. Hope to see you there! #FJFieldDaysagweb.com/news/business/tech…
Our first cotton plants are breaking through the ground! The ideal plant date is between late April - early May. So these plants hit the window perfectly! #cotton#Plant21
We enjoyed having some visitors to the farm today from John Deere. We had some great conversations about how to make cotton planting and harvest more sustainable and efficient. #nothingrunslikeadeere#cotton#JohnDeere
Wow. We just found this gem of a book. It was written in 1946-almost 75 years ago. We spend so much time talking about how farming has changed and evolved, mainly through equipment and tech advancements, but this book is a good reminder that so much is still the same.
Did you know September is #NationalRiceMonth? Join us in celebrating rice producers all across the state and country!
Fun fact: There are 221 rice-producing farms in Mississippi! #mscrops#MSUext
