Today is #WorldBloodDonorDay. This year’s theme, “One Drop of Humanity. Give Blood. Save Lives.” places humanity at the heart of every blood donation. Donating blood is an act of solidarity. Across the @IFRC network, around one quarter of National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies are responsible for blood service delivery in their national blood programmes. South Sudan: Journalists from Juba, Bor, and Kapoeta participate in a 2-day National Media Training on Early Warning Systems, hosted by the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Mgt in collaboration with @SSRCS, supported by @IFRC & the Netherlands Red Cross (Rode Kruis).

Happening now in South Sudan 🇸🇸 Journalists are taking part in a National Media Training on Early Warning Systems, hosted by the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management and @SSRCS, supported by @IFRC and @RodeKruis. Aligned with the Sendai Framework and Early Warnings for All initiative, the training strengthens risk-informed journalism, community engagement, multi-stakeholder collaboration and use of the Common Alerting Protocol. Sessions feature SSRC, IFRC, @UNDRR_Africa and @ITUAfrica, highlighting the complementary roles of humanitarian partners in protecting communities through timely, accurate and inclusive early warning information.

Our team was in Mareng Payam, Pigi County, Jonglei State. Together with @SSRCS volunteers, we provided cash assistance and essential household items to more than 8,000 people newly displaced by armed conflict in Jonglei State. #SSOT #SouthSudan

In Leer, Mayendit and Koch counties in Unity State, we have provided multipurpose cash assistance in collaboration with @SSRCS to 1,750 families recently displaced due to the conflict as well as returnees from Sudan. #SouthSudan #SSoT

Today, the @SSRCS made an important milestone by signing the Tripartite Agreement with @ifrc and @ICRC for the implementation of Sevilla Agreement 2.0. This agreement is a sign of trust & mutual respect that commits the entire #RCRC family to do more together for people in need.

To continue working together to support communities affected by armed conflict & natural disasters in #SouthSudan, the #ICRC, the @ifrc, and the @SSRCS signed a Movement Coordination Agreement last week. The agreement renews their joint commitment for the next five years. #SSoT.

Together with @SSRCS , we distributed emergency cash assistance in Panyikang County to approximately 3,000 people who fled armed conflict from Jonglei into Upper Nile State #SouthSudan. The assistance aims to help families afford basic needs and rebuild their lives with dignity.

In 2025, together with the @SSRCS, we repaired 72 handpumps in cooperation with the SSRC, restoring access to water for over 36,000 IDPs and distributed water filters to about 6,500 households in #SouthSudan.
